Modi's India

India is emerging as a new world power, challenging existing world powers. The path to progress generates insecurity for the existing powers. This progress may be full of new challenges. India must remember that science and technology should be used for the welfare of humanity, but to help humanity to keep peace and prosperity, India must use new progress and development for good administration. In other words, criminals and selfish individuals must fear the rules and regulations of society. Capitalists and Industrialists are required, but they exist if society exists. Progress and peace are possible only when people feel secure and trust the government. Human rights and human duties are two sides of the same coin. Immigration without assimilation causes the disintegration of social values. It causes chaos on the streets. I advocate a borderless world, but a borderless world must be governed by global justice. Global justice is possible only with global power. Unipolar power must govern to inculcate peace and stability by adopting transparent means. Ideology is important, but realism should not be overlooked. Balance is necessary to govern society. India must lead and teach new methods to govern society. Ram Raj is Indian culture, where the King works for the society.

Shashi Tharoor on X: "Attended PM @narendramodi’s #RamnathGoenkaLecture at the invitation of @IndianExpress last night. He spoke of India's "constructive impatience" for development and strongly pushed for a post-colonial mindset. The PM emphasized that India is no longer just an 'emerging market' https://t.co/97HwGgQ67N" / X 'emerging market' but an 'emerging model' for the world, noting its economic resilience. PM Modi said he’d been accused of being in “election mode” all the time, but he was really in “emotional mode” to redress the problems of the people.
A significant part of the speech was dedicated to overturning Macaulay's 200-year legacy of "slave mentality." PM Modi appealed for a 10-year national mission to restore pride in India’s heritage, languages, and knowledge systems. I wish he had also acknowledged how Ramnath Goenka had used English to raise a voice for Indian nationalism! 
On the whole, the PM’s address served as both an economic outlook and a cultural call to action, urging the nation to be restless for progress. Glad to have been in the audience despite battling a bad cold and cough! 6:24PM 18 Nov 2025

At a time when public confidence in democratic institutions is already strained, the Election Commission’s conduct during the SIR process has been deeply disappointing. It must immediately demonstrate that it is not operating under the BJP’s shadow and it remembers its Constitutional oath and allegiance to the people of India, not to any ruling party. We firmly believe that the BJP is attempting to weaponise the SIR process for Vote Chori. And if the EC chooses to look the other way, that failure is not just administrative - it becomes a complicity of silence. 
Our workers, BLOs, and District/City/Block Presidents will therefore remain relentlessly vigilant. We will expose every attempt, however subtle, to delete genuine voters or insert bogus ones. By contrast, the cell exposed this week in India’s National Capital Region (NCR) consisted of several practicing doctors — some also serving as faculty members — who exploited their professional status to facilitate operations, procure chemicals and materials for IEDs, and manage logistics through rented accommodations and university networks. They also allegedly engaged in recruitment and indoctrination within academic and professional circles. Their medical credentials provided an ideal cover, enabling them to move freely in high-security zones such as the NCR and operate beneath the threshold of traditional security surveillance mechanisms.

Among the Prophet Muhammad and the caliphs who followed him, there was hardly any room for non-violence. The way jihad has been glorified in the Islamic scriptures makes it extremely difficult for Muslims to cultivate a spirit of non-violence. 
Sometimes people can overcome violence through the pursuit of art and culture. But in Islam even that is forbidden. The religion is openly hostile to the fine arts. Islam, in essence, is a faith largely bereft of culture. Dance, music, instruments, singing, painting, sculpture—all are declared haram. Many individual Muslims have, of course, excelled in various branches of culture, but only by transcending the boundaries of religion. They achieved greatness because they could rise above dogma. 

Today, in almost every Muslim-majority country, we witness the eruption of violence—democracy is absent, non-Muslim minorities face extinction. How do we escape this nightmare? Terrorism and Islam are increasingly seen as synonymous in the public mind. This is not a baseless accusation, nor can it be dismissed as a conspiracy of the RSS or BJP. The same picture of violence is visible across the entire world. 
Labeling this reality as “Islamophobia” cannot save us. We must face the truth. That is why I say: not jihad, but non-violence must be nurtured within Muslim society. What is needed is reform. The educated and enlightened Muslims must realize that blaming others is futile—the solution lies in self-reflection and self-correction. 
Today, arguing over a tangible God versus a formless Allah is meaningless. Both are products of imagination. No one has ever been able to prove the existence of Allah, nor will anyone ever be able to. It will remain a matter of belief, not evidence. Hence the belief that anyone who questions or criticizes Islam or the Prophet must be eliminated is not only destructive for Muslim society—it is disastrous for all humanity. 
A large section of Muslims remain preoccupied with prayer, fasting, burqa, and hijab. They may become doctors or engineers, yet refuse to examine religion through the lens of reason. I have visited several Islamic missions where students are trained rigorously to become doctors—but alongside this, blind dogmatism is also cultivated. Thus, a doctor emerges with both medical skill and a deep-rooted bigotry. Within such a milieu, even the educated find it hard to renounce the path of jihad. 
What, then, is the way forward?
Muslims must keep Muhammad and Allah within the private sanctum of their hearts—nowhere else. A modern society must be cultured and founded on gender equality. Violence has no place there. 
The life of the Prophet and the Qur’an must be open to both discussion and criticism. 
The idea of ruling a state by Sharia law must be abandoned completely. 
Muslims must return from madrasa education to secular schooling. 
Culture must be given its rightful place in individual and collective life. 
The burqa, hijab, and puritanical dress codes should be discarded. 
Respect must be extended to people of other faiths—and to atheists. 
Loyalty must be shown to one’s land and its culture.
Family planning must be accepted. 
Women’s equal rights must be embraced from the heart. 
In short, Muslim society needs a profound reformation. Without it, not only the Muslim world but the future of all humankind will sink into darkness—a darkness filled with terror. '--Osman Mallick

More disturbing is the profile of some of those arrested. The alleged involvement of doctors and other professionals suggests the emergence of a “white-collar” terror network capable of planning and executing sophisticated operations under the radar of traditional security surveillance. Initial investigations point to possible interstate and transnational linkages with outlawed groups such as the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, underscoring that the infrastructure of cross-border terrorism remains intact.

India must adopt good governance by human values, and the government must be the least interfering. Internal and external security must be the main government actions. But it should be based on character to serve rather than rule.

I appreciate and support Trump on many issues but his actions need a political approach not a business approach. Los Angeles has been burning for the past three days, and it all started with a rumour. Word spread that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was carrying out a raid at a Home Depot nearby, a place where many undocumented workers go. They heard immigration officers were there, and panic quickly swept through the community. Protests broke out soon after and cars were set on fire. President Donald Trump decided to step in. Without consulting California Governor Gavin Newsom, he mobilised the California National Guard in a rare move. He deployed around 2,000 soldiers to Los Angeles. Governor Newsom hit back, calling the move an "abuse of power". On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma brings you the full story.

According to me, the G7 without Russia, India, and China does not serve humanity. The meeting was supposed to be in Canada. Canada did not send a special invitation to the Indian Prime Minister. Later, it was corrected by Canadian PM Mark Carney.
