Indian Politics

4 May 2022
Modi visits Denmark.
PM Narender Modi addresses community reception in Copenhagen, Denmark on 3 May 2022. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen graced the occasion. Mette is the Prime minister and leader of the Social Democrats since June 2015.
As per Wikipedia "The current prime minister of Denmark is Mette Frederiksen, since 27 June 2019. Frederiksen's administration is a coalition between the Social Democrats with parliamentary support from the Social Liberals, Socialist People's Party, Red-Green Alliance, the Faroese Social Democratic Party, and Greenland's Inuit Ataqatigiit and Siumut."
Indians belonging to different parts of India were present in the reception with their dresses. Modi thanked Telugus, Maharathies, Bangalies, Malayalees, Tamils, Kannadas, Udiyas, and Punjabis. Modi adds that this is what is the strength of India and talked about inclusiveness in cultural diversity. He said, "भाषा अनेक लेकिन भाव एक" is the strength of India. Modi repeated his philosophy again "सबका साथ, सबका विकास सबका विशवास, सबका प्रयास" (efforts of altogether to achieve goals of prosperity for India). He stressed further that this will not only remove the poverty of India but shall improve the prosperity of the people of the world, for a one-fifth population of the world's population live in India.
While appreciating the Indian diaspora of Denmark Modi stressed that it is the Indian culture that Indians respect rules and law of the land and democracy where ever they reside and contribute to the progress of the country where they work and live. It is confirmed by many political leaders of different countries to Narender Modi (7:04). Indians are making a positive contribution to Danish society.
Modi is in Denmark and attending the meeting on the environment. He quoted to save the environment, since centuries Indian culture sees Paramatma in trees and treats the river as a mother goddess. He is of the opinion that the world should change its lifestyle for the environment. The consumption approach and use-and-throw approach should not be followed.
He empowered the Indian diaspora that you are not Ambassadors of government (राज दूत) but are ambassadors of the nation (राष्ट्र दूत). As the nation's ambassador convince five nonindians to visit India and take cognizance of Indian Vedic culture. The concept of one world family is far above the concept of trade propagated by neoliberalism.
Thobani examines critically Modi's visits in other foreign countries and writes that "Hindu nationalism reflects the conservative ideology of Hindutva (Hinduness), grounded in notions of Hindu supremacy wherein the religious and cultural identity of the Indian nation are regarded as fundamentally one and the same(Thobani 2019, 747)." Thobani concludes that "Hindutva movement is increasingly global in scope and Hindus engage in multiple nationalism near and far (Thobani 2019, 760).

3 May 2022
Modi in Berlin
"Modi hai to Mumkin Hai" (Nothing is imposible for Modi". Modi delivered a speech in Berlin, Germany. Modi does nothing, but 1.3 billion people do it.
Modi talked about the inferiority complex Indians had due to thousand of years of slavery. India is changing and Indians are feeling (12:00) good. This is possible only because there is now confidence of people in the governance of India. Earlier people did not feel the change. It was the need of time that there should be minimum government and maximum governance. Nation progresses when people of the nation come forward and progress. Now 1.3 billion people are in the driving seat. We are reforming and transforming the nation. For reform political will is required, performance needs government institutions' support, and transformation needs people's cooperation.
We have the same office, the same bureaucracy, same table, same file, and same pen, but now the results are different. Earlier there was always work in progress. Road will be built, then water people will come and will dig the road, and telephone people will come and again dig the road. All were performing but the result was poor. Now we have joined all together and they are planning together. Now there is scope, scale and speed. (20:00)
Now Indians are purchasing locally manufactured products and feeling proud of the product. Earlier relations in India used to ask for imported guests. One should be vocal for locals. Products from India should be a fashion for people around the world. India is going global (41:00).
Earlier Khadi and Neta were synonyme. After independence Khadi did not grow and Khadi products started fading.
Modi keeps listeners busy and sees to it that they are part of the discussions and speech. Noone feels bored during his speech. Modi requested Berliner Indians that join local movement with vocal for Khadi. Modi also emphasized that Indians should take active part in local construction like sugar in milk. Sugar mixes together in milk and improves the taste of milk. So in the same way Indian diaspora should mix with the local German population.

"In a 30-minute interview with Karan Thapar for The Wire, Ramachandra Guha discusses five reasons why he believes the Gandhis must exit politics altogether. Rather than paraphrase those reasons it’s important that you should hear the interview and learn about the reasons from Ramachandra Guha himself. They include what he calls their “lack of political intelligence”, the fact “the Gandhi family has become active facilitators of Hindutva authoritarianism”, the fact “their very presence in Congress makes it easy for Modi and the BJP to deflect attention from the government’s failures in the present by resorting to debates about the past”, the fact that they are not in touch or contact with and do not understand the ordinary Indian people who will not accept “fifth-generation dynasts” and, finally, the fact that in nearly 200 seats, where Congress is pitted against the BJP in direct fights, it can barely win 8%." Ramachandra Guha gave an example what Priyanka told about Hijab and the freedom to be in Bikini.  In the last he mentioned the reasons in this interview why do three Gandhis not leave Congress? 1 Money 2 Afraid of losing capital Gandhis acquired 3. Legal harassment and going behind bars. The interview is worth listening to inform about Congress politics, which Ramchandra Guha wrote as an article in Calcutta Newspaper The Telegraph on 12 March 2022.

8 April 2022 (India's position on Ukraine and Russia war)
India abstained from UNGA elections. India's nonaligned approach can be considered the best for India. KC Tyagi informs about CEATO, that the US wanted to encircle China. Nehru, Nasser of Egypt, Sukarno of Indonesia, and Marshall Tito joined together as the Non-Aligned Movement. Poland was the first country to adopt a noncommunist movement. Poland was an atheist country but Pope visited first. China also wanted slaves as the US wants them. Saddam, Libya, and Syria all actions were done by the US. According to KC Tyagi India stood independent and adopted a nonaligned policy.

Indian democracy is always the first to experience tool kits of a demonstration against the ruling party devised by the unfriendly emerging local and international politicians. However, specific tool kits destabilized many states.
One may blame Modi / Trump / Trudeau / Macron / Putin and Xi Jin Ping, but people must learn the inherent power democracy provides. Human rights are as necessary as human duties. Compare this with the CAA and Farmers movement in India. Protesters are talking of leaderless movement, human rights, freedom, etc.
Academics are intelligent and interested in explaining in detail with necessary theories, but their hypothesis confuses the common masses. For example, recently, I learned the new word "democracy with adjectives." In other words, people's democracy, illiberal democracy, liberal democracy, authoritarian democracy, guided democracy, neo-patrimonial democracy, military-dominated democracy, proto democracy, ethnic democracy, electoral democracy, majority democracy, participatory, deliberative, egalitarian, and conservative democracy.Read 2018 report of www.v-dem.net
These adjectives change with who is writing for whom and why. In politics two plus two is never four. There are always hidden objectives of power, greed, and grievances. The age and experience of academics matter to analyze data. Many wear tinted glasses. "Rating complex concepts require judgment, which may vary across experts and cases" www.v-dem.net page 9. He won with 50,000 votes,100,000 votes, and 150,000 votes in each five-year election. But the mafia is targeting him and the mafia is supported by political parties during 2008.

2. Indian politics discuss openly Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Parsi, Buddhist, etc. Still, people live together. People understand the politics played by miscreants.
It is taking time to change the Indian culture imbibed during slavery of 350 years. Now academics change the definition of slavery. Do academics confuse people?

Biden and Putin on Ukraine

Ukraine

 1. “George,” Putin said, “you have to understand that Ukraine is not even a country. Part of its territory is in Eastern Europe and the greater part was given to us.” In July of this year, Putin elaborated extensively on this theme in a long treatise entitled “On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians,” in which he insisted on the cultural and religious unity of Russians and Ukrainians and blamed the West for trying to pry Ukraine away from Russia. His central point: “We are one people.” Angela Stent, Dec. 6, 2021, Foreign Affairs, "Diplomacy, and Ambiguity can avert a crisis in Ukraine. Talk with Putin and keep him guessing".

"U.S.-Russian relations have always been a mix of cooperation and confrontation. Washington can continue to push back against Moscow’s aggressive moves directed against Ukraine while also being prepared to restart negotiations on a way forward. That dynamic of push and pull was how the United States and the Soviet Union dealt with each other during the Cold War, and it remains a possible model for steadying the tense contemporary U.S.-Russian relationship.

Of course, if the Kremlin does invade Ukraine, this model will no longer be relevant. The Euro-Atlantic region will instead be thrust into a new, dangerous period of confrontation".

"In the briefing for reporters, the senior administration official also said there had been a “significant spike in social media pushing Russian propaganda” that followed the pattern of Russian actions in 2014, just before the invasion and annexation of Crimea. The Kremlin sees Ukrainians as “one people” with Russians, living in a failing state controlled by Western forces determined to divide and conquer the post-Soviet world. Ukraine, by contrast, ousted a Russia-friendly president in 2014 and increasingly is in favor of binding the country to Western institutions."  https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/06/us/politics/biden-putin-call-ukraine.html
