1. The left of centre Biden Administration in the U.S says it is concerned about the CAA notification in India.
This 'concern' is hypocritical for three reasons.
First, the US made the 'Lautenberg amendment' to the Foreign Operations Act of 1990 that relaxed provisions for a class of religious minorities facing persecution from the erstwhile Soviet Union and Vietnam to get refugee status.
Second, in 2003, the Specter Amendment brought another provision that allowed for designation of categories of Iranian religious minorities facing persecution. Just like CAA the Specter Amendment also relaxed evidence threshhold required to prove refugee status.
Third, U.S is one of the most ardent supporters of Israel that provides Jews a perpetual "right to return". This, even though Israel has no official religion even though the state is often described as Jewish. Some of these people who came to India before 2014 are being given a right. The number of people who had applied for citizenship under the Citizenship Act of 1955 is also just 4000. What is this completely distorted picture which is being presented? Ruling opposition parties of TN, KERALA, WEST BENGAL & DELHI have vowed not to implement the provisions of the CAA in their states.
This makes for great optics. The mostly minority voters of the INDIA bloc parties will be very pleased. But there's a catch.
These opposition parties are not telling you is that they have no power to block the implementation of CAA.
This is because the CAA has been implemented under the Union List of the 7th schedule of the Constitution.
There are 97 items which are under the Union List of the 7th Schedule that include Defence, External Affairs, Railways, Citizenship and Naturalisation, among others.
Muslim body welcomes the move of the implementation of #CAA.

If Kerala, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu do not accept the laws passed by centre government, then these governments are not accepting constitution of India. India must try to resolve these issues by changing constitution as is accepted by United States of America. "Ahmadiyyas are among the leading founding communities of Pakistan. 4. Nitish Kumar’s exit from I.N.D.I.A block will hurt the Congress most. Marya Shakil is the executive editor of NDTV and explained events happening in Bihar. She could not reason out the main causes of Nitish leaving RJD and joining NDA. According to me Nitish could not control the corrupt practices of RJD and did not want to be with the corrupt parties in the present political atmosphere. Nitish did not favor his family and had a clean political image.
"It is almost certain, barring last-minute machinations, either from the BJP or JDU, that Bihar will see a new Govt in the next 24 hours. It is also certain that Nitish Kumar will become the CM, again. He is too astute to settle for anything less at this point. Other than that the BJP will drive a hard bargain, corner plum portfolios, and install DCMs of their choice, notwithstanding Nitish Kumar’s objection or otherwise. The BJP will also be frugal with what it agrees to give the JDU in Lok Sabha. It will ensure the seat sharing reflects strength in the Assembly, limiting JDU to a few more than ten seats. LJP, both Chirag and his uncle Paras Paswan, will be accommodated too. The BJP will just look to stitch a rainbow coalition of castes, which will ensure NDA romps home with a massive number in 2024. PM Modi’s popularity, Ram Mandir among others will further boost their prospects.
But why is Nitish Kumar’s decision to part ways being debated endlessly, when both Mamata Banerjee and Bhagwant Mann have also walked out on the Congress in their respective states? Nitish Kumar, in-fact doesn’t enjoy the kind of majority they do. The other two enjoy brute majority in their respective states and have vanquished the BJP to win power. To add to Congress‘s vows, MK Stalin has also been uncharitable, blaming the Congress for being high handed and indecisive, leading to I.N.D.I.A block crumbling. If optics matters, Jagdish Shettar’s return to the saffron fold is bad news too. It has surely been a bad week for the Congress.
But let’s look at Nitish Kumar and why his exit matters most. Unlike Mamata Banerjee, who is mercurial and Bhagwant Mann, who is still under the shadow of Arvind Kejriwal, Nitish Kumar is his own man. You can disagree with his opportunistic politics, but he knows how to remain relevant with even a small legislative party. He carries with him the legacy of being a torchbearer for socialist worldview and has a clean image. It was on his call that various opposition parties converged in Patna for the first meeting. He was in that sense the nucleus of opposition unity. Social justice, caste census etc were all his ideas, which Rahul Gandhi ran with, for a while, before dropping them all of a sudden, in the aftermath of loss in the Hindi heartland. Nitish Kumar is ambitious, even though he may not give the impression. And that is what made parties like the RJD, which compete against JDU in Bihar, and Congress wary of him, who got together to deny him even Convener’s position in the I.N.D.I.A camp. Mamata Banerjee may not have been acceptable to the Congress but it was wary of Nitish Kumar. He was undoubtedly the most eligible face to stand opposite PM Modi, perhaps palatable to the electorate too. That is why his exit is a body blow to the I.N.D.IA block.
The final shape of new Govt in Bihar could have some surprises, elements of social engineering, or may simply follow the predictable template of the past, but Nitish Kumar is now clearly on borrowed time because his ‘switch’ this time has been met with a lot of scorn from all concerned, instead of anger or admiration, like in the past. Muslims are celebrating Deepavali in Ayodhya, for Ram is reaching/arriving in Ayodhya after 500 years. Muslims (Baber) destroyed the Ram temple around 500 years before and built the Mosque (Masjid) on the pillars of the Ram temple. After 500 years of legal battle by Hindus, the Supreme Court of India allowed to building temple in the same place and allotted 2.5 hectares of land to the owners of the Mosque.
On 22 January 2024, Narender Modi is inaugurating the temple built in Ayodhya. Opposition political parties call this event a political move of the BJP. Opposition (Corrupt leaders) are boycotting this celebration.

क्या जवाब देगी कि नैरोजगंज रेलवे ट्रैक ((किलिक निक्सन, 1910, शकुंतला रेलवास के नाम से जाना जाता है) पर अमरावती से मुतजापुर तक, भारत ने 2016 तक ब्रिटिश कंपनी को भुगतान क्यों किया? नेहरू ने 1947 में ब्रिटिश कंपनी के साथ वार्षिक रॉयल्टी का भुगतान करने का यह समझौता क्यों किया? लगभग 1,20,0000 रुपये? स्वतंत्र भारत में इसका स्वामित्व ब्रिटिश कंपनी को क्यों? इसे खरीदने के भारतीय रेलवे के प्रयास क्यों विफल रहे? इस ट्रैक और ट्रेन का राष्ट्रीयकरण क्यों नहीं किया गया? श्रीमती गांधी ने तो निजी भारतीय बैंकों का भी राष्ट्रीयकरण कर दिया था!
अरे हाँ, भारत स्वतंत्र नहीं बल्कि एक प्रभुत्व था इसलिए 1947 में माउंटबेटन के आदेश पर यह व्यवस्था करनी पड़ी?

4. ANI News in Kohima, Capital of Nagaland: The Nagaland Assembly yesterday unanimously adopted a resolution urging that the state be completely exempted from the purview of the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
CM Neiphiu Rio said, "...Whereas the apparent objective of the UCC is to have a single law on personal matters such as marriage and divorce, custody and guardianship, adoption and maintenance, succession and inheritance, which in our view should pose a threat to our customary laws, social practices and the religious practices which will be in danger of encroachment in the event of imposition of UCC..." "On Central Government's decision to relax 20% customs duty on apples imported from the US, National Conference (NC) president and former J&K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah says, "When the concessions were announced during the G20, it wasn't thought that what impact it would have on our economy.
