Waqf is an Urdu word. It means a donation (दान) for public use. Waqf Board manages the property owned by Waqf. Ankit Srivastwa explains it in very simple words. क्या भारत में सबसे अधिक जमीन के मालिकों में से एक WAQF Board हो जायेगा खत्म? जानिए क्या है मामला ? He explains the difference between government bills and private bills introduced in the Indian parliament. This is necessary to understand the history of Waqf in the world. Harnath Singh Yadav introduced a bill in the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) of the Indian parliament to reconsider the Waqf Board Act 1995. Parliament accepted the bill for discussions with 52 votes in favour and 32 votes against as per the report submitted by Ankit Awasthi. The property of Muslims after the 1947 partition of India is now under the Waqf Board Act passed in 1954 by the Congress parliament.
