झारखंड के अधिकतर गांवों में आदिवासी-मूलवासी एक साथ https://t.co/lrKz5FgEwK" / X  There has been quite a commotion over my statement regarding the increasing number of churches in the tribal areas of Jharkhand. Many people who have already changed their religion are upset that I only mentioned churches and not temples. Let's discuss this issue in detail today.

In most villages of Jharkhand, tribal and indigenous communities live together. For thousands of years, our villages have had Jaherthan/Sarna sites/Deshawli/Manchi Than, as well as temples of the Sanatan society, where indigenous people perform worship. Both tribal and indigenous communities bow their heads at each other's worship sites, participate in each other's festivals and celebrations, and respect everyone's faith. In addition, there are several temples like the Diuri Temple and Rankini Temple, where priests from the tribal community serve in the role of Pahan, and Sanatanis also worship there. In the same way, we participate in their festivals and celebrations. But this mutual respect for each other's religious sites and traditions never changes our faith or our way of life. We tribals are people who worship by sitting under trees, and from birth to marriage and death, we have a very clear lifestyle. For all important milestones in life, including the birth of a child, naming ceremony, and marriage, our social processes are carried out by Manjhi Pargana/Nayake/Pahan/Manki/Munda/Padha Raja, etc. At every important stage of life, we go to Jaherthan/Sarna site/Deshawli/Manchi Than to worship Marang Buru/Singbonga. In this social coexistence of thousands of years, we have been companions in each other's joys and sorrows, providing help as much as possible, but they never forced us to change our faith or lifestyle. Looking at the current pace of conversions, it seems that if they had done so, our culture might have been wiped out much earlier. In our thousands of years of history, you will not find a single indigenous/Sanatan person who tried to convert our people in exchange for help, assistance, or cooperation, or by tempting or threatening them. They never claim to be tribal themselves. They do not attempt to snatch or encroach upon the other rights our society has received, including reservations—so why harbor enmity toward them? On the other hand, Christian missionaries began proselytizing in this region in 1845, but in just 180 years, they have struck at our traditions and religious faith, seized reservations, opposed our languages and scripts, and made every possible effort to erase our existence. By converting millions of our people, they have created such a situation that in Simdega and many other parts of Jharkhand, locks have been placed on our Jaherthans/Sarna sites because there is no one left to perform worship there due to conversions. The identity of tribal society comes from traditional lifestyles, unique culture, language, customs, and age-old traditions, but these people are engaged in wiping it out. They talk about DNA but do not mention that due to these very missionaries, tribal cultures have become extinct in many parts of the world. The Ayoréo tribe of Latin America, the Samburu tribe of Kenya, the Wayãpi tribe of Brazil, and the tribes of Fiji and the Pacific Islands have forgotten their original cultures after conversion. Their traditional customs, festivals, languages, dances, worship practices, and social structures have been destroyed. Why don't you openly say that your real intention in India is the same?

Conversion is not a political issue but one connected to the very existence of our society. If, following the path shown by Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Veer Sido Kanhu, Veer Poto Ho, Veer Tana Bhagat, Veer Telenga Khadiya, and other guides, we do not preserve our traditions, then in the future, there will be no one left to worship at our Jaherthans, Sarna sites, Deshawlis, etc. Our very existence will be wiped out. (Part 1/2)

"(Part 2/2) सिर्फ किसी धार्मिक स्थल पर सिर झुकाने से किसी का धर्म नहीं बदलता, उसके लिए पूरी जीवनशैली बदलनी पड़ती है। लेकिन ईसाई मिशनरियों के दलाल दिन भर रटते रहते हैं कि यहां आदिवासियों को हिन्दू बनाया जा रहा है। यह एक झूठा नैरेटिव है, जिसकी आड़ में भोले-भाले आदिवासियों को गुमराह" / XMerely bowing one's head at a religious site doesn't change anyone's religion; for that, one's entire lifestyle must change. Yet, the brokers of Christian missionaries keep parroting all day that tribals here are being made Hindus. This is a false narrative, under the cover of which these people mislead innocent tribals and play the game of conversion. If they truly cared so much about tribals, they wouldn't abandon their own traditions to sit in the lap of a foreign religion. Such people, who are uprooting the roots of tribal identity, have no right to speak about our society.

One more thing: Under Article 30 of the Indian Constitution, the Christian community is considered a minority. These people know this full well, and all their educational institutions also label themselves as minority institutions. But these very same people, who call themselves minorities, turn into tribals when contesting elections or taking jobs. Does this happen anywhere? If you've changed your religion, then live happily with your new identity (minority). We have no problem with that. Take the benefits related to it as well, but do not encroach upon the reservations and rights given to us tribals by the Constitution. Those making a fuss over the statement about thousands of churches in Jharkhand should explain which section of the CNT-SPT Act gives the right to transfer tribal land to minorities? You may call yourselves tribals, but churches are purely minority religious sites. On whose land are they built, and with whose permission? Under what provision was the land given to them? This needs to be investigated. The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, used to call tribals "Girijan." Did anyone oppose him? Lord Shri Ram was exiled to the forest, so he too was a forest-dweller; then how did this word become wrong? Different communities call us by various names, but does that affect your existence? You remain what you are. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji has clearly stated that while implementing the UCC, tribal society is being kept out of it, so that our age-old traditions and unique lifestyle can be preserved. This is an important step toward the preservation and promotion of our thousands-of-years-old lifestyle. But if conversion doesn't stop, everything will slowly come to an end; no law will be able to save our society.

Therefore, on behalf of tribal society, we demand from the central government that they resolve this crisis threatening the existence of tribals through delisting or by making necessary changes in Article 342.    2:24AM 31 May 2026
