Occupy Democrats on X: "BREAKING: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez UNLOADS on Trump after he threatened to cut of all trade with his country for refusing to support the Iran war: "We are not going to be accomplices to something that is bad for the world." Let this serve as an example to other https://t.co/HOlRsUwKdD" / X to other foreign leaders...

“Very often great wars start with a chain of events spiraling out of control due to miscalculations, technical failures, and unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, we must learn from history and cannot play Russian roulette with the fate of millions,” Sánchez said in a televised speech.“It’s not even clear what the goals are of those who launched the first attack," he stated. So far, the only goal seems to be inflicting mass death on Iranian men, women, and children while U.S. soldiers are sent home in flag-draped caskets. This is an illegal war that will accomplish nothing beyond further destabilizing the Middle East. Sánchez warned against "repeating the mistakes of the past" and drew direct comparisons with the ultimately failed U.S. invasion of Iraq that resulted in mass death, cost trillions of dollars, and led to the rise of ISIS.

Sánchez boiled his country's position down to one very simple idea: "No to war." At one point in his speech, Sánchez made a clear reference to Trump's threat to end "all" trade with Spain after they ejected American aircraft from their military bases, stating that Spain will "not be complicit in something that is bad for the world – and that is also contrary to our values and interests – simply out of fear of reprisals from someone."

That "someone" is Trump because yesterday he threatened to end trade with Spain over their refusal to enable his bloodlust. "But some of the European— Like Spain, has been terrible," said Trump. "In fact, I told [Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent] to cut off all dealings with Spain. Spain, first of all, it started when every European nation, at my request, paid 5%, which they should be doing." "And everybody was enthusiastic about it, Germany, everybody. And Spain didn't do it. And now Spain actually said that we can't use their bases," whined Trump. "And that's all right. We could use their bases if we want. We could just fly in and use it." "Nobody is going to tell us not to use it. But we don't have to. But they were unfriendly. And so I told him that we don't want to..." he went on. "Spain has absolutely nothing that we need other than great people. They have great people. But they don't have great leadership." "And as you know, they were the only country that, in NATO, would not agree to go up to 5%. I don't think they would have agreed to go up to anything," he went on. "They wanted to keep it at 2% and they don't pay the 2%." "So we're going to cut off all trade with Spain. We don't want anything to do with Spain," he concluded.

Clearly, his threats didn't work. Spain is standing strong!6:19AM 5 March 2026.
