One seasonal journalist informs that standing instructions were accorded to the Police by Mulayam Singh Yadav that no FIR should be accepted against Yadav and Muslim people. If it is unavoidable then register the case but do not arrest. I was in India and during that time Mulayam Singh was Chief Minister. Mulayam Singh appointed many Yadavs in to the Police and Excise departments of the U.P. Government. These inspectors accepted money openly and no one dared go against them.
An example is the lady state excise inspector Yadav posted in Mohan Meakin Ltd between 1997 and 2008, when I was an employee in Mohan Meakin Ltd, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, U.P. India. Selection was not based on merit but based on caste and religion. Money also played an important part in getting a lucrative government job. Examinations for government jobs were rigged and many inefficient and corrupt officers were selected, though good people were also selected. These good executives were fewer in number and many government trainees applied for government jobs for easy money.
