But by confronting China despite the risk of a full-scale war, India has openly challenged Chinese power." https://twitter.com/Chellaney/status/1702748926531567688

Under UPA defense ministry in 2013 admitted to a Parl committee that the Chinese had grabbed our land 19 km inside LAC. PM Modi is trying to correct UPA’s misdeeds while Rahul shamelessly continues to blame the Modi govt for UPA’s faults. Amit Malviya https://twitter.com/amitmalviya/status/1693198323878973796
"The question is, having invested so much will China walk away from these areas, especially the areas North of Ladakh and Gilgit – Baltistan? If not, have we not tacitly kept watching while China was developing the infrastructure in these areas? Does this not amount to a loss of territory?" Retd Brigadier V.Mahalingam, Sept 10, 2013. Times of India
If this is not a betrayal of India’s national interest by Nehru what else is needed? Nation must now warn Modi to stop telling lies of “Koi aaya nahin …”That lie is also betrayal of the nation.

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad says, "They (Congress) ask for proof of the Balakot & Uri attacks. What can we even expect from them?... Today, when Rahul Gandhi talks about Ladakh, I want to ask him if remembers how much of India's land was captured by China before & after the 1962 war...The then Defence Minsiter AK Antony in the Parliament had said that 'We don't want to irritate China by erecting infrastructure'...This is your (Congress party) past..." https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1693171622033956905

Brahma Chellany an expert on Chinese international relations "The exigencies of contriving a "breakthrough" in the border crisis before hosting Xi for the G-20 summit could lead India down the wrong path. In 1996, India handed revisionist China a major tactical advantage by agreeing to a “no gunfire” provision in a bilateral accord. With the defending side having pledged not to open fire even to fend off any aggression, this paved the way for the PLA’s incremental seizure of Indian border areas in the following years. Now, in the current Chinese border aggression that began more than three years ago, the defending country could hand the aggressor state another advantage by agreeing to freeze border force levels. This would help solidify the revised status quo along the frontier that China is seeking to present as a fait accompli. It is telling that, in the just-concluded military talks, China refused to restore India's patrolling rights in eastern Ladakh but instead proposed a freeze on border force levels." https://twitter.com/Chellaney/status/1691698823221932132

"The 19th round of India- China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Indian side on 13-14 August 2023.

The two sides had a positive, constructive, and in-depth discussion on the resolution of the remaining issues along the LAC in the Western Sector. In line with the guidance provided by the leadership, they exchanged views in an open and forward-looking manner.

They agreed to resolve the remaining issues in an expeditious manner and maintain the momentum of dialogue and negotiations through military and diplomatic channels. In the interim, the two sides agreed to maintain the peace and tranquility on the ground in the border areas."  https://twitter.com/Chellaney/status/1691482749465477120

According to China's policy meeting each other halfway means  "10 miles forward and five miles back". I am of the opinion that the border between two states should not be based on ambiguity. The border should be demarcated clearly to resolve conflict, which can bring peace and prosperity to both states. The demarcation of borders is a necessity to think beyond territories for the peace and prosperity of humanity on this planet. The resources of this planet are sufficient to feed all. Greed cannot be satisfied but the planet provides sufficient food and prosperity to all. An earlier war between China and India destroyed many assets and killed many people. Later Buddha preached peace. India, China, and Myanmar should accept Buddhism and nonviolent means to achieve peace. People Without Borders.

India and China should not fight a war. China is stronger economically, and militarily and possesses soft and hard power. It has veto power and is one of the five superpowers of the world. India is a democratic country. India lost three decades from 1980 onwards and in particular after the death of Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi. Democracy takes time to mature and progress. But once democracy experienced pitfalls and downfalls, then it is more mature and democracy cannot be destabilized. This is the strength of Indian democracy. India needs time to gain hard power. Modi is trying his best to improve the economics and war industry in India.

Brahma Chellany is an expert on China relations. He tweets "India's desire for a "deal" before a summit meeting in the past has only helped to further China's aggressive designs. In 2017, the "disengagement deal" just before Modi and Xi met at the BRICS summit in Xiamen, China, paved the way for the PLA to capture almost the entire Doklam Plateau.
To create so-called buffer zones in eastern Ladakh since 2020, India has pulled back from its historically claimed areas. The last buffer zone (at Gogra-Hot Springs) was unveiled just days before the 2022 SCO summit at Samarkand that Modi and Xi attended. Now, just ahead of the BRICS and G20 summits, will the latest Sino-Indian military talks result in a deal revalidating China's "10 miles forward, five miles back" strategy, thereby illustrating what Beijing calls "meeting each other halfway"?"

"Whereas Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, China prefers incrementalism, enabled by stealth and deception, to advance its revisionist agenda. This, together with tremendous economic clout, shields it from a decisive Western response. That is why, barring a major strategic blunder by Xi, expansionism is likely to persist. The ongoing row between India and China over the treatment of their journalists spiraled after, Beijing authorities on June 12 asked the last Indian journalist to leave China this month. Xi Jinping-led Chinese government has ordered the Press Trust of India reporter to leave the country this month. Earlier, a Hindustan Timer reporter left China this weekend after his visa expired and was denied renewal. Rift between Asian neighbors spurred after Beijing claimed that there is ‘unfair’, ‘discriminatory’ arrangement for Chinese journalists in India. However, India vehemently denied China’s allegations and reversed the card stating that China is not allowing Indian journalists to work freely. The MEA also affirmed that Indian journalists are facing ‘difficulties’ as they are not allowed to hire Chinese locals for operations. Notably, tensions between ‘not so friendly’ neighboUrs are worsening since deterioration in ties in mid-2020, after deadly clash between troops, which led to death of 20 Indian soldiers and unknown number of Chinese soldiers. The situation has not improved significantly as border standoff between two countries continue along LAC.

China's overall approach towards India is to continue to downplay the border issue while stressing other aspects of the relationship. Political jockeying should not come in the way of India's strategic needs.

Press Briefing by EAM Dr. S Jaishankar on meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister #WangYi  The current situation between India and China can be explained as a work in progress. Mutual respect, sensitivity, and mutual interests are the key factors to discuss. We have many frictional areas. We discussed how can we take it forward. Military officers have discussed and many agreements have been violated. Peace and tranquility is disturbed. So how can we move forward? Our relations cannot be normal till the situation on the border is not normal. We had many meetings together on phone and at different places. There is progress and we are still discussing it in its entirety (11:43). Any timeline for disengagement and deescalation
Regarding Ukraine, Mr. Wangi explained the Chinese view and I explained my view. we both have agreed on the importance of a ceasefire and discussed that we should return to diplomacy and dialogue. We did not discuss it on Quad. What about the Kashmir issue? It was discussed and why do we find it objectionable. We hope that China may look at policy with India as Independent. Regarding the visit of PM Modi to China about BRICS. Terrorism from Pakistan came and Indian view was explained regarding Chinese view on OIC in Pakistan.

New satellite images of an under-construction bridge connecting the north and south banks of the Pangong Tso lake suggest that the speed of construction peaked during the winter. The bridge is being constructed right near India’s claim line which has remained under Chinese control for decades.

Imagery provided by space firm Maxar Technologies, analyzed with pictures from the European Space Agency, suggests that though the construction work began in September last year from the northern shores of the lake, its completion is only a few meters away from the southern bank. China has been strengthening infrastructure and connectivity near the border regions even during the winters. Similar incidents of the construction of roads and bridges have also been reported near Galwan. Top focus on India First, decoding China's Pangong dare.

We don't have to convert anyone but teach how to live. We were born in the land of Bharat to give such a lesson to the whole world. Our sect makes good human beings without changing anyone’s worship system: Anyone trying to disturb the tune will be fixed by the rhythm of the country. Need is to move forward together with coordination in order to make India a Vishwa guru: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat further added while addressing an event in Chhattisgarh on Friday. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1461832447142727687

"Having watched PM Modi closely for the last 19 years now , I can tell you that there is no move he has made politically that has not had a plan or purpose . Even when he takes a step back . As per his own words “ Patte Saare Hamaare Pass Hai , Kab khelna Hamare Upar Hai “ . +I do not believe “ Repealing #FarmLaws is a climbdown. Watch the coming months for action on that front . Now no one can call him fascist. But I feel this is a change of track going forward, we are going to see a different PM "

You never know there might have been some input that khalistan is & isi are planning something big under cover of ongoing andolan hence this decision so that agitation ends immediately and their planning fails. As you righty said their is no move made by him without a purpose.

Plz think why the Kartar Sahab suddenly opened-- a border. The police officers changed in the border state. There must be a serious threat to national security as he said I m repealing the laws for the welfare of the country.

Jaipal wrote on Facebook "Parliament is the supreme authority in a parliamentary democratic system. Parliament passed three farmer's bills, which nullified brokers of farm products from marginalized farmers. Brokers used to finance these farmers. Many poor farmers are dependent on these brokers, who fund politicians and employ corrupt practices. In addition, brokers maintain liaisons with government bureaucrats and many other power groups.
Narender Modi wanted to break this nexus. But some farmers opposed Modi. This movement continued for around more than one year. Finally, Captain Amrinder Singh - ex-chief minister of Punjab, forwarned Modi and informed HMO Amit Shah of the foul game played by Congress INC. Amrinder Singh resigned from congress to save India. Akali Dal political leaders also knew the details and informed the government regarding pitfalls.
Narender Bhai Modi understood it. So he took a great decision to withdraw these three farming laws. But will it stop the movement against India? I doubt.
I trust in democracy. I believe most Indians trust in democracy as democracy is in their blood. Some political leaders do not want to withdraw and may create more roadblocks. Many politicians were taking people for granted. But the Indian public keeps all cards under their sleeves. Election results confirm my thesis.

Human Rights

23 January 2022

No NGO or Media talked about this. Dons and Mafia are created by Police and Netas. This is what happened with Vikas Dubey. Bikru village is an example of this. "The Yogi government describes the elimination of goonda raj in UP as one of its biggest achievements. A big proof of the end of the goonda raj was Bikru village in Kanpur, where gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter. In today's exclusive ground report of Zee News, see how the situation has changed in Bikru". Nobody talked about human rights at that time. According to one reporter, people were not allowed to vote. This is the power of Indian democracy.

11 November 2021

https://www.globalr2p.org/publications/the-relationship-between-violations-and-abuses-of-human-rights-and-the-commission-of-atrocity-crimes/

"History has demonstrated that atrocity crimes are often precipitated by serious violations and abuses of human rights by states and non-state actors. Violations of civil and political rights – including the rights to life and liberty, to freedom of movement and of expression, etc. – as well as severe restrictions on economic, social, and cultural rights – including the rights to work, to achieve an adequate standard of living, to education, to take part in cultural life, etc. – may create an environment conducive to the commission of atrocity crimes"....

"While not all human rights violations and abuses indicate an imminent atrocity risk, nor do they necessarily directly cause crimes, understanding how they may constitute atrocities or enable their occurrence is an essential step in strengthening the capacity of human rights mechanisms to prevent atrocity crimes.

Understanding the intrinsic link between human rights violations and abuses and atrocity crimes helps clarify the root causes and drivers behind such crimes. However, the opportunities this link provides for more robust and structural atrocity prevention can only be effective if they are properly leveraged. There must be a systematic inclusion of an atrocity prevention lens in all human rights mechanisms, particularly HRC-mandated mechanisms so that early warning signs and risk factors for atrocity crimes can be identified. This must also be accompanied by the increased international will to cooperate with and act on recommendations made by these mechanisms, which requires greater effort to bridge the gap between UN bodies in New York and Geneva, including through inviting Geneva-based mechanisms to brief the UN Security Council".
