Aparna Kurup faced intense cyberbullying and death threats simply for questioning regressive comments made by Kanthapuram. Instead of protecting her, the government filed a case against her.
On one side, the IUML pressures the government to withdraw cases against those who threatened the journalist. On the other, a weak government complies - dropping charges against the attackers while prosecuting the victim.
This "Taliban-model" of politics - sacrificing women’s safety, press freedom, and constitutional rights for vote-bank appeasement - is a direct threat to Keralam’s and India’s future.
Where are and now? They talk about “smashing the patriarchy,” but stay silent when their own government targets a woman who spoke up against regressive dictates.The BJP will stand with independent journalism and women’s rights.
