Indian News 2026

11 May 2026

ANI on X: "#WATCH | Delhi: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani says, "What has become even more obvious from the recent Middle East conflict and targeted attacks on infrastructure is that energy security and digital security are no longer independent dimensions. They are now the twin https://t.co/YLCaPeKlIG" / X  They are now the twin foundations of national power. And it is increasingly evident that the country that controls its energy will drive its industrial future. The country that controls its compute will drive its intelligence future, and the country that controls both will shape the century ahead. This is the new geometry of power. If 1947 was about our political freedom, true independence in the 21st century will mean owning the energy that lights our homes and the intelligence that guides our minds. This is not a theory. The two largest economies in the world, the United States and China, have understood this deeply. Their systems may be different. Their politics may be different. Their institutions may be different. But their strategic objectives are the same. No nation can call itself truly self-reliant if it depends on others for the energy that powers its economy or the intelligence that shapes its destiny."5:58PM 11 May 2026

The 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election will remain unforgettable. The power of the people and the BJP's politics of good governance have emerged victorious. I bow to every person in West Bengal.
The people have given the BJP an unprecedented mandate, and I assure them that our party will do everything possible to fulfill the dreams and hopes-aspirations of the people of West Bengal. We will build a government that ensures opportunities and dignity for people from all sections of society.12:59AM 5 May 2026

यह जनादेश पश्चिम बंगाल, असम एवं पुडुचेरी में विकास, सुशासन और" / X Heartiest congratulations and best wishes on the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party-N.D.A. in the West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry Assembly elections. The people have expressed their complete faith in the able leadership of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. This mandate will give new momentum to the works of development, good governance and public welfare in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry.1:27AM 5 May 2026

Under PM Shri ji, Bengal will rise again as one of India’s leading states. For the TMC regime of fear, appeasement and protection of infiltrators, it is #KhelaShesh (game over).
Surely a day to celebrate with Jhaal Muri.2:57AM 5 May 2026

Yuri Bezmenov's Ghost on X: "India under Modi is using state power to raise a collective ethno Hindu-national consciousness through Hindutva. Nothing has changed that. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the public face of a much larger project. It runs through two closely linked institutions: the" / X  institutions: the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, or RSS, the Hindu nationalist volunteer network founded in 1925, and the Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, the party Modi leads and that has governed India since 2014. The RSS supplies the worldview, discipline, cadre, and ground network. The BJP supplies the electoral vehicle and the levers of state power. Together, they have turned historical grievance into mass identity, institutional control, and a self-feeding cycle of rupture, awakening, and repair.
The pattern is familiar: first comes the wound, then consciousness-raising, then political repair.
In India, the process is unusually disciplined because it is backed by a dense organizational ecosystem. The wound creates the emotional charge. The RSS turns that wound into a unified Hindu identity that cuts across caste, language, sect, and region. The BJP converts that awakened identity into votes, mandates, and state action. Each victory becomes proof that the awakening works, which feeds the cycle again. In Hindutva’s story, the wound is civilizational fracture. Hindu India was broken by centuries of foreign rule: first Islamic conquest and empire, then British colonialism. Political power was lost. Cultural control was imposed from outside. After independence in 1947, the injury supposedly continued through “pseudo-secularism,” where the Hindu majority was treated as the safe default group while minorities received special protections through personal laws, institutions, and political patronage. In this telling, Hindus became politically scattered, divided by caste and region, and cut off from their own civilizational memory. The past becomes a live political problem. The core people of India were broken, and now they must remember who they are. That is where consciousness-raising begins. Savarkar’s early Hindutva framework moved “Hindu” beyond private worship and ritual into a broader cultural-national identity. Hindu became a civilizational category, capable of folding Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists into one larger peoplehood. The goal was national formation. The RSS is the daily machine that plants this identity. Through local shakhas, or branches, volunteers are shaped by drills, songs, talks, discipline, and shared stories of Hindu history and unity. The RSS produces cadre. It builds memory. It trains people into a shared identity and plugs them into a wider social network. The BJP then turns that formation into state power. Since Modi came to national office in 2014, the BJP has used government to deliver visible symbolic and institutional wins. The Ram Temple at Ayodhya is the clearest example: a civilizational wound turned into a state-backed victory, broadcast as proof that history is being repaired. Other moves, including the Citizenship Amendment Act, textbook changes, welfare schemes wrapped in national-unity rhetoric, and the broader language of Bharat, follow the same pattern. The state becomes the instrument of civilizational repair. That is why the cycle keeps strengthening. The wound justifies the awakening. The awakening wins elections. Elections produce state action. State action becomes proof. Proof deepens the awakening. West Bengal Elections in April 2026 are an example. Results on 4-5 May 2026.
The recent state votes only reinforce the pattern. The BJP took West Bengal and retained Assam, while communists lost Kerala. For Hindutva politics, Bengal especially matters: another hostile region pulled into the saffron map, another symbolic conquest, another sign that the machine still works. 11:36AM 5 May 2026

Now she is dusted… in a free and fair battle. Same with Stalin.. and outright Dravidian politics. Annamalai is not for this generation so he is kept in reserves. He will be unleashed in next decade as let people first get disillusioned by Vijay. You never give a Rafale to a trainee or rookie pilot. He has to learn on trainer jets. Once he is ready, he is made to sit on Rafale. Annamalai is that Rafale while voters are still not ready for him as it will need a generational shift. Stalin has been replaced.. Udayanidhi is Pappu pro, EPS is a non-starter. So let Vijay either fantastically go bust, or if he does well for Indic thought overall, he will be co-opted. In politics, there are only a few untouchables. Kejriwal was one, Gandhis are another, Stalins and Akkalless, and Momo Brigade. BJP is managing decent working relationship with even Omar Abdullah, inspite of him being slammed into jail for making wrong guttural noises during the civilisation-saving Article 370 abolishment. He has mellowed down. Kashmir is a long-term project. If you can time-travel into the 2050s, Kashmir will be having more Biharis and UP folks than Kashmiris as their TFR is 1.4. That is unsustainable. They might as well invite Pandits back or let Biharis take over their land. That’s how battles for generations is fought. You don’t plan power for yourself or your son like dynasts..
You plan for your next few rebirths by first ensuring good dharmic land when you come back and also do good work to ensure you come back to this land only as a human and not get reborn as Goat in Pakistan. 4:01PM 5 May 2026

And yet, I draw a line. I refuse to casually dismiss every electoral outcome as manipulation. Not because misuse of power does not exist. Not because allegations of pressure, selective enforcement, or institutional bias are imaginary. But because I value democracy too deeply to weaken it through such conclusions. So what next? One understands the frustration of opposition parties when they face what they see as selective compliance, uneven application of rules, and the use of power that appears unfair. I am not suggesting that they should not raise these issues before the people. Campaigns like “vote chori” reflect a genuine grievance. But is it only blaming a solution? Has it led to any structural correction so far? A real answer lies elsewhere. We had a basketball coach in school, I remember. He would always advise us to focus on scoring more baskets when we faced a biased referee. Because the best way to handle unfair judging was to score more. When you keep scoring, the referee starts looking weak and irrelevant. That is the principle. A mass people’s movement. Absolute, unwavering, and unquestionable support from the people. No system, no authority, no agency, no pressure can override that kind of mandate. Work towards a people’s mandate. Work towards a vote tsunami in 2029. That will fetch a success no system can take away. And it will strengthen our democracy. Democracy is not defeated by a flawed system, it is defeated when people stop believing they can defeat it.
In the end, no referee matters if you keep scoring.    4:41PM 5 May 2026

Dr. Brahma Chellaney on X: "Lurid Orientalism? American media often refer to the BJP as “Hindu nationalists,” but rarely describe Republicans as “Christian nationalists,” even as the relationship between the Republican Party and Christian nationalism has shifted from a quiet alliance to a central pillar of" / X  central pillar of the party’s identity and policy agenda. Recent surveys by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) find that a majority of Republicans are now either “adherents” or “sympathizers” of Christian nationalism.
This reluctance to label the GOP “Christian nationalist” reflects Western self-image. To do so would be to acknowledge that the United States is not an “enlightened, secular” state, but one where religious identity is a primary driver of power — much like the systems the West often scrutinizes in the East through Edward Said’s lens of Orientalism. In the Western imagination, Eastern politics is often cast as inherently religious or tribal.
The media’s reluctance to apply the same labels at home has, in effect, enabled Christian nationalism to grow by allowing it to operate under the ostensibly “neutral” banner of conservatism. This has, ominously, helped fuel racial bigotry.  7:31PM 5 May 2026

Every politician and every citizen was subconsciously trapped by the fear of this trauma. Until one day Overtone window shifted and this impotent bluff which has ensnared the whole nation was called out. When Modi became CM, he was simply trying to develop Gujarat peacefully. But for decades in Gujarat, after everytime Hindus won, the Congress would start brutal riots. My nana got his sister married during riots and my parents told me curfews were common back then. This is the story about Gujarat no one tells you. Godhra carnage for us was bone chilling. Then the riots broke out when I was in school. The media coverage was so horrible that we stopped reading newspapers those days. Shops in my city were burnt and there was an atmosphere of fear. Amidst all this Sonia and her minions left no stone unturned to torture Modi. Everything felt as if it was hanging by a thread. Modi not only triumphantly overcame this but he learnt a lesson for life. The beast must be tamed and India must not be held hostage by the 0.5 Front. After that, every single policy as the PM has been affected by what he learnt in Gujarat. When he wanted to scrap Article 370, security arrangements were made beforehand so nothing could go out of hand. Ram Mandir was built again with the tightest security arrangement. For Bengal, BJP played the long game. In the last Bengal Election I hated BJP for not doing anything. But I realise my folly. Modi was biding time till everything could be Iron clad. And once that was done, Bengal Elections were spectacular. What Modi learnt is that India's Partition Trauma must be healed by being so bold and ensuring such foolproof security, that the whole country can start seeing the IMPOTENCE of the 0.5 Front. What felt like a horrific scary threat has now been called out for what it is - A BLUFF. And that my frens is how the Gujarat Riots have shaped everything that Modi has done so far.  There's a silver lining to everything.7:48PM 5 May 2026

X After suffering a jolt in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is fighting to win every election without any slip-ups. For this, it leaves no corner untouched. Modi's charisma, Shah's strategy, the party organization, the strength of the Sangh, and the edge of ideology are its power. The central power and the weaknesses of the opposition give it an additional advantage.  9:20PM 5 May 2026

Prof. P.A.Varghese on X: "According to a report by the Pew Research Centre, a silent yet seismic shift is reshaping the world’s religious demographics and India stands right at the epicentre. The world continues to echo the concerns of minority rights here, but the data tells a different story: Islam is" / X different story: Islam is the fastest-growing religion globally especially in India, while Hinduism is quietly receding, even in its historical homeland. How long will it take for Hindus to be no more the majority? 12:28PM 4 May 2026

BJP won the Bengal Election held in April 2026 with good majority. Read in detail "West Bengal News". Success in Assam was predicted. Change in Tamil Nadu is also important as a new party, TVK won the elections. BJP won the Pondicherry elections also. Change of politics also taken place in Kerala .
I remember that at one point, the West Bengal police wrote to Twitter to take down my tweets exposing hate speeches by rioters and deliberate inaction during communal violence in Murshidabad. All those years of torment are nothing in front of the euphoria that countless Bengalis and I are witnessing today. I am in tears of joy.
"At the stroke of midnight, when the world sleeps, Bengal will awake to life and freedom."  8:45PM 4 May 2026

आज सारा देश यह मानता है कि 'मोदी https://t.co/r7mivDjTiv" / X As a worker, today my heart is filled with emotions. A resolve has been fulfilled, a dream has come true. Today, the soul of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee ji will be delighted.
Under the leadership of the honourable Prime Minister Shri ji, the victory in Bengal is remarkable and extraordinary. Today, the entire country believes that 'it is possible only if there is Modi'. This is a manifestation of immense reverence and faith in Modi ji. This is the victory of the idea of a developed India. The vile politics of vote banks has been rejected. The lotus has bloomed across the entire eastern India. Assam's extraordinary performance stands out, and in Tamil Nadu too, those whose only work was opposing Modi have been thoroughly defeated today. In Puducherry, the government of the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA is forming again. Truly, the way love and faith in a leader brings miracles is evident from these election results. I congratulate our leader, the honourable Shri ji, for his infallible strategy, and also the honourable national president Shri ji. Truly, today I am not a leader, but as a worker, I am emotional. @BJP4Bengal @BJP4Assam @BJP4Puducherry 9:26PM 4 May 2026

Even after this victory, dismantling a patronage state will take time. The numbers first. BJP leads 194 seats. TMC trails at 92. Majority mark was 148. This is not a squeaky win. This is a mandate. That margin matters — it gives BJP room to govern boldly, not just survive. Turnout was 92.93% — the highest in Bengal's history. When nine in ten voters turn out, they are not participating. They are ERUPTING. Three voter blocs broke simultaneously. That's what made this a rout, not just a result. WOMEN, YOUTH, MATUAS WOMEN broke over RG Kar. The mother of an RG Kar rape victim is leading in Panihati — her candidacy itself a verdict on law and order. YOUTH broke over jobs. The recruitment scam didn't just steal positions. It stole futures. MATUAS broke over citizenship. BJP offered CAA. TMC offered ambiguity. Ambiguity lost. Three immediate governance tests — in order of difficulty. Test 1: CAA delivery BJP made an explicit promise to the Matua community. They voted. They will expect citizenship processing to accelerate within months, not years. Test 2: The corruption reckoning. ED and CBI cases against TMC leaders now have state cooperation instead of obstruction. This will move fast. But BJP must be careful. A corruption crackdown that looks like political vendetta will erode goodwill. One that is seen as genuine accountability will consolidate their mandate. Test 3: The economy. The hardest one. Employment and industrial revival were central campaign promises, particularly for younger and urban voters. Bengal was once India's industrial heartland — Howrah, Durgapur, the Hooghly corridor. Decades of Left followed by TMC left it behind. BJP has to get Investment, jobs, and infrastructure with visible movement. The SILIGURI CORRIDOR deserves its own tweet. This narrow strip of land — sometimes called the Chicken's Neck — connects Northeast India to the rest of the country. It is also a strategic pressure point that China watches closely. A BJP government in Bengal changes the security calculus of this corridor. Delhi now has full alignment between Centre and state on border security for the first time in 15 years. This is not just politics. This is geopolitics. Now, the opposition question. TMC is not dead — it won 92 seats. Mamata Banerjee is not a politician who exits quietly. The real danger for BJP is not TMC's resurrection. It is TMC's transformation — into a lean, grievance-driven opposition that makes governance difficult from outside power, the way BJP itself did between 2011 and 2021. The best way to prevent that? Govern well. For India's opposition nationally — this is the moment of maximum danger. Bengal was the proof of concept. The evidence that Modi could be stopped. The state that held in 2021 when everything else fell. That proof is gone. The INDI bloc has no major state that functions as a working alternative model anymore. The opposition doesn't just need a new strategy. It needs a new story.
Bengal has the highest political violence record of any Indian state. It has institutional decay across the police, judiciary, and administration. It has an economy that has punched far below its potential for four decades. BJP hasn't won a trophy. It has accepted a responsibility.
History will judge this result not just by the historic margin today — but by what Bengal looks like in 2031.    9:44PM 4 May 2026

Bengal Elections will decide about the chicken neck and future of West Bengal and seven sisters of east. As per this report CIA is active to destabilize and disintegrate India. / X
Who contested the elections in Bengal..??
After the cultivation of opium in Afghanistan was shut down, Malda in West Bengal has truly become Asia's second-largest stronghold for growing opium. Right here, efforts are underway to settle a particular community in the border state, and steps are being taken toward severing the Chicken's Neck. Meanwhile, the first stronghold for opium cultivation in Asia is Manipur. Manipur is being managed from the Northeast. All in all, the individual from Malda will close off the Chicken's Neck, and the Northeast, controlled from Manipur, will declare itself an independent Christian nation—just as Sheikh Hasina had revealed that part of the plan connected to Bangladesh before fleeing from there. This plan was crafted by America, and America's CIA is the biggest smuggler of this opium. The Government of India has set a 2029 target to free Manipur from this American conspiracy. However, now Malda has also been roped into the American plan alongside Manipur, and to this day, Mamata has not provided the land to the Government of India for erecting fencing along the Bangladesh border. If she had provided the land, what harm would it have done to Mamata, really? But if the fencing had been put up, it would have become difficult for the CIA to smuggle the opium grown in Malda into Bangladesh, just as those people easily smuggle opium from Manipur into Myanmar and Bangladesh. The island that America had demanded from Sheikh Hasina was meant to serve as a base to transport the opium from Manipur and Malda via Bangladesh to that island and sell it in the global market. Because the Government of India cracked down hard in Manipur, the CIA developed Malda, as they're always busy with such scandals—they just need to exploit it for their purposes. Here, the plan to settle "Me" in the border areas and sever the Chicken's Neck isn't Sharjeel Imam's; rather, it's his father America's plan, inserted into Sharjeel Imam's head through Pakistani terrorists. Over time, the CIA is also working on the plan to sever the Chicken's Neck and convert the Northeast into a Christian state. For now, things have moved beyond just opium smuggling. Matthew Vendai was a pawn in this chain, whom Indian agencies have turned into a peacock. Due to Malda, the Government of India's 2029 plan had to include West Bengal as well. The way Mamata Banerjee was eager to devour the entire state in the name of secularism without doing any actual work—freeing Malda from her clutches first, then erecting fencing along the border and so on to stop opium and cattle smuggling from Bangladesh, human trafficking, infiltration, etc.—these are the most essential tasks. And none of this is possible until Bengal is freed from Mamata Banerjee. Until there's a supportive government in the state, the center can't do much alone. Even after taking over a 50 km border area in Punjab, consignments of weapons and drugs were caught just yesterday, smuggled in via Pakistani drones. The doctors who carried out the explosion in Delhi—along with an entire police station in Srinagar that was blown up with the same explosives—and the thousands of kilos of explosives that were seized—all of it had been smuggled in from Bangladesh. As soon as inputs came in about those explosives entering India, the Government of India shut down Bangladesh's transit permits for cargo across all of India and directly pointed them to the nearest port route. I thought the route permits were closed due to the nonsense from Bangladesh's American-planted caretaker Yunus, but he was busy fraternizing with Pakistan too, and it's impossible that America wasn't aware of this game. Even now, America and Pakistan together are preparing to carry out another major terrorist incident in India—our agencies have such inputs. Therefore, closing off smuggling routes from Bangladesh is extremely necessary.
In UP, all illegal buildings along the Nepal border have been uprooted, and now it's Bihar's turn. Samrat Chaudhary's first major project will be to stop illegal activities along this Nepal border. 2:52PM 3 May 2026

This is a grave violation of election protocols, and may draw:- 1. Risk of Undue Influence: When an Officer's specific deployment is known to a politically tilted organization or union, it opens the doors for unnecessary political influence and intimidation. 2. Threat to Neutrality: The sanctity of the counting process relies on the confidentiality of personnel deployment. Any breach of this secrecy directly affects the impartiality of the results. 3. Pressure Tactics: Such "data collection" by associations is often a veiled attempt to put pressure on Officers to favor the ruling dispensation during the crucial counting hours.
I strongly urge the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal, to take immediate cognizance of this matter, and issue strict directives prohibiting any Officer from disclosing their assigned counting duty to any organization or association. Also, kindly initiate a probe into these organizations that are collecting such sensitive deployment data. 7:15PM 3 May 2026

"Go Around" via Sunda.
1) As a sailor with years of experience navigating the Indian Ocean and seas across the world, I have seen firsthand why the Malacca Strait is one of the world’s most critical maritime arteries. Nearly 40% of global trade and roughly 80% of China’s oil imports pass through this narrow 900 km corridor (its narrowest point is just 2.8 km wide). Developing the Nicobar Islands, especially Great Nicobar, is not controversial. It is essential for India’s security, economy, and influence in the Indo-Pacific. Let me explain in simple terms. 2) Location is everything. Great Nicobar Island sits astride the 6 Degree Channel (also known as the Great Channel), the western gateway to the Malacca Strait. It lies just 40-80 nautical miles from the strait’s approaches. The channel itself is 163 km wide between Indira Point (India’s southernmost point) and Indonesia’s Aceh province. Ships heading east from the Indian Ocean must pass near or through waters where India holds a commanding position. 3) Why does Malacca matter so much? From a sailor’s viewpoint, this route carries tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships over 60000 ships every year. A single blockage (whether due to an accident, tension, or deliberate action) can spike global fuel prices and disrupt supply chains worldwide. For China, this is the famous “Malacca Dilemma,” a term coined by former President Hu Jintao. Their “String of Pearls” strategy tries to reduce dependence on it, but geography remains unforgiving. 4) Many suggest China can detour south through the Sunda Strait. This is not a practical alternative, due to depth and navigation hazards. Sunda is shallower in key stretches (minimum around 20 m) with sandbars, strong currents, oil wells, and reefs. Large VLCCs and supertankers (over 100000 DWT) often struggle or avoid it entirely. On the other hand, Malacca safely handles deeper drafts. Extra distance and time. The detour adds 1000-1500+ nautical miles, depending on the route, which is 2.5 to 5 extra days at sea. Fuel costs rise sharply. The Lombok Strait is deeper but even longer. Military and operational realities, Sunda and Lombok lie in Indonesian waters. They are not ideal for unrestricted operations by the Chinese navy. There is no quick or easy bypass. 5) The Great Nicobar Project changes the game, International Container Transshipment Terminal (first phase 4.4 million TEUs, scaling up to 16+ million). Dual-use airport supporting rapid Navy and IAF deployment. Power plant and integrated township. Strengthens INS Baaz and the entire Andaman & Nicobar Command as a true forward base. This is far more than ports and runways. It creates unsinkable aircraft carriers that extend India’s surveillance, logistics, and power projection directly along China’s vital energy routes. At the same time, it also reduces our dependence on foreign transshipment hubs like Singapore and Colombo. 6) In summary, developing Great Nicobar gives India genuine leverage over the sea lanes that China relies upon. We gain the ability to monitor traffic, project power eastward, secure our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), and generate economic benefits through jobs, tourism, and transshipment revenue. 7) Having felt the currents and challenges of these waters myself, I am a strong advocate for this project. India must move forward with it. It is not just about one island; it is about securing our maritime future in the Indo-Pacific. The Malacca Strait is not going anywhere, and neither should our strategic presence there. Jai Hind.

GWADAR: The port was located in an enclave owned by the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman from 1783 until 1958. Oman offered it to India, but Nehru spurned the offer, saying it was too far. So Oman sold it to Pakistan for $3 million. Today, it has a large Chinese naval base. KATCHATHEEVU ISLAND: Indira Gandhi ceded the island of Katchatheevu to Sri Lanka via the Indo-Sri Lankan Maritime Agreement. This uninhabited but strategically located island (near Tamil Nadu) was historically disputed. The handover affected traditional fishing rights for Indian fishermen, leading to ongoing arrests, conflicts with Sri Lankan Navy, and livelihood issues. It was a unilateral concession without sufficient parliamentary scrutiny or long-term safeguards. In 1984, Sri Lanka repaid India by allowing the CIA to install 6 high-powered transmitters in Iranawila.
ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS: They are home to India's Triservices Command. It is set to be one of the largest military bases in the world with the capability to track every single Chinese warship and commercial vessel. It already has the capacity to shut down the Malacca Straits and choke China's petroleum pipeline and exports. Congress has inked a secret agreement with the Communist Party of China. Now you know why Rahul Gandhi does not want India to develop the Andamans. 3:55PM 2 May 2026

When China builds bases in Cambodia and Myanmar, it’s 'strategy.' When India builds an 'Unsinkable Aircraft Carrier' in Nicobar, it’s an 'ecological disaster'? This gives America effective influence over the entire strait.
However, if India builds a high-tech military base at Great Nicobar, New Delhi would gain independent control and monitoring capability at this choke point. India would no longer need US support or approval, reducing America’s commanding position in the region.

Japan has never offered this to anyone. Not the US. Not Australia. Not the UK. India is the first country to receive a full design transfer offer on a frontline naval platform from Japan. Think about what this means for Indian shipbuilding. We already build destroyers and frigates domestically. Adding Japanese stealth hull design, advanced sonar integration, and combat management systems fills exactly the gaps our navy has identified. I am a product of that American story. I attended California’s public schools from kindergarten through medical school, became a doctor, and now have the privilege of serving our nation in Congress. That is what the American Dream looks like. The comments shared by President Trump are offensive, ignorant, and beneath the dignity of the office he holds. They reflect a fundamental misunderstanding of who we are as a nation. America has always been strengthened by generations of immigrants who come here, work hard, and contribute to our country. They do not weaken America — they strengthen it. America was built by people from all over the world who believed in its promise and worked tirelessly to make it better for the next generation. That’s the story of my family, and it’s the story of millions of families across our nation. President Trump, who was born into wealth and privilege, has never had to struggle the way so many immigrant families have. He does not understand the grit, sacrifice, and determination it takes to build a life from the ground up. He does not understand public service, and he does not understand the values that make America the greatest nation in the world. Now Trump has amplified a segment from Michael Savage’s podcast in which the host characterizes China, India and other nations as “hell-holes.” Reposting “hell-hole” comments on his Truth Social account under his own name amounts to explicit disparagement of sovereign nations and, by implication, their peoples.
Governments often issue demarches or summon ambassadors to clarify whether such statements reflect official policy. But Trump’s use of racist rhetoric has become routine. Dr. Brahma Chellaney on X: "Operation Sindoor: Tactical Success, Strategic Drift On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam massacre of tourists, Prime Minister Modi’s response to the terrorist attack is back in the spotlight. The massacre inflamed public passions in India. For the first time, the political" / X For the first time, the political opposition united in demanding action against Pakistan, the longstanding sponsor of cross-border terrorism. This public pressure may have forced Modi’s hand, helping to overcome his longstanding aversion to armed conflict.
What followed was extraordinary: For almost 15 days, Modi effectively signaled India’s intent by holding widely publicized, near-daily meetings with the chiefs of the three military services, giving Pakistan ample time to largely empty its terrorist-training camps and prepare to mount military reprisals against looming Indian strikes. India’s short-lived military campaign, “Operation Sindoor” (May 7–10, 2025), was no less extraordinary. Instead of allowing the Indian Air Force to first neutralize the enemy’s air defenses — in keeping with the first principle of air warfare — the political leadership ordered strikes only on largely empty terrorist camps. The result, as India’s chief of defense staff later acknowledged, was the avoidable initial loss of aircraft — a “mistake,” as he put it, that was only “rectified” on the third and final day of the operation, when the government at last authorized strikes on the adversary’s air defenses and bases. But no sooner had the Indian Air Force devastated Pakistan’s air defenses and bases, stretching from north to south, than President Trump — not New Delhi — announced a ceasefire. (India’s own announcement came 90 minutes after the truce had already taken effect.) In short, the operation delivered major blows and shattered Pakistan’s sense of immunity under its nuclear umbrella, achieving a tactical success. But the tactical success did not translate into a strategic victory, because the political leadership had defined no clear strategic objective. Worse, it abruptly accepted the ceasefire, apparently under Washington’s persuasion, which helps explain why Trump announced it. All this allowed the Pakistani military not only to rehabilitate its damaged standing at home but also to stage what amounted to a constitutional coup. Pakistan, moreover, strengthened its ties with Washington. By contrast, the past year has been among the most difficult in U.S.-India relations." 5:49PM 22 April 2026

In effect, India is transferring more net capital to China through trade than it spends on the military capabilities meant to deter China. This creates a “funding loop,” whereby Indian demand for Chinese goods helps fuel the very economic engine driving the modernization of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). India’s widening trade deficit thus generates a distinct set of strategic and economic vulnerabilities, including the “hollowing out” of domestic manufacturing. Yet there is remarkably little public discourse in India on how such structural dependence on Chinese imports may be deepening the country’s long-term strategic exposure.

His core assertion is blunt, war is binary. You either win and write history, or you lose and become history. The real objective in any conflict is not territory, but the collapse of the enemy’s morale. Nations do not surrender when they lose land; they surrender when they lose the will to fight. This thinking aligns with modern warfare realities. Cyber attacks, information warfare, and psychological operations are all designed to weaken public confidence and fracture internal unity. The battlefield has shifted from geography to the human mind. History validates this doctrine. The United States, despite overwhelming superiority, failed to decisively win in Vietnam and Afghanistan, outmatched by local resolve and ideological commitment. Ukraine’s resistance against Russia and Israel’s repeated survival in hostile conditions further highlights one constant: collective national resolve can offset material disadvantages. Doval does not dismiss military strength or technology. Instead, he defines them as force multipliers—effective only when backed by strong national morale. Without will power, capability collapses. With it, even limited resources can deliver strategic success. For India, this signals a structural shift. National security is no longer the sole responsibility of the armed forces or intelligence agencies—it is a collective national duty. Rising public awareness, digital engagement, and civic participation are gradually strengthening this shared responsibility. Doval identifies three pillars of a secure nation: Capabilities: Technological, economic, and scientific strength across sectors Character: Discipline, integrity, and mental resilience in society Commitment: A nation-first mindset over individual self-interest The absence of commitment leads to corruption, weak governance, and systemic inefficiencies. Its presence, however, can transform institutions and accelerate national progress.
The doctrine is clear: the real strength of a nation lies not in its arsenal, but in the mindset of its people. 2:04AM 16 April 2026

ELIZABETH LANE on X: "So what’s up with Trump? Trump is only two things, and both have been proven to be an absolute disaster for the country. He is stupid, and he is a narcissist. Let’s prove this. Trump is a silver-spooned child who never read a book, and whose only interests for the longest time https://t.co/bkYQHe7iWZ" / X Trump is a silver-spooned child who never read a book, and whose only interests for the longest time were women and superficial pursuits. That’s it. This is a man with no morals a man who cheated on both wives and failed in multiple businesses in almost Failproof condition set up by his father and now he is using the presidency to secure Gaza real estate for himself and his son in law.
This is a guy who had the best team, MTG, Massie, Elon, Vivek, Joe Kent, Tucker, Charlie, Candace and even Megyn kelly, all of them supported him and literally helped put him in power. If Trump thinks he won on his own, he needs a reality check. He won because of those people. He won because he said there would be no more wars and that people like Lindsey Graham (the swamp) wouldn’t be anywhere near decision-making. The harsh critics of him and the same people who tried to kill him, are his closest allies today. And this complete idiot has managed to push out every sane voice around him. Every single one. Elon got close to auditing Pentagon and was effectively sidelined. He was offended, his business was impacted by Trump’s decisions and although he tried to make peace, he is nowhere near Trump’s inner circle anymore. Vivek was pushed out right away. Then Candace. Then Charlie was effectively silenced by a bullet in his neck and instead of demanding answers pushing his own FBI guy for transparency, demanding names, autopsy reports, and full details Trump did nothing! He did nothing. He is not brave he is a coward and a bully. He’s only strong against sanctioned countries that can’t fight back, nations targeted by his predecessors simply because they refused to bow down and hand over their resources to the corporate America. Meanwhile, the same system enriches entrenched power at home, allowing corporate elites to grow into massive monopolies that squeeze the middle class out of existence, untouched. That wealth they took from latino America is not for Americans, it's for Blackrock, Israel etc, you saw it first hand. Iran won't be for American people either. He keeps calling Charlie his friend, but he did nothing for Charlie. No, Trump doesn’t have friends. He has opportunities. He uses people, then gets rid of them once these people show that they also have their own opinions and they want to be heard. Then came Tucker. Anyone who challenged Trump or reminded him of his own limitations was quickly dismissed. Meanwhile, political opportunists like Graham who have been playing the game for far too long realized they’re dealing with a narcissist. All they need to do is praise him constantly, constantly! Tell him how great he is, how everything he says is brilliant, unprecedented, amazing and that’s it, you've got his attention. Then they feed him bad information while reinforcing his thinking. That’s how manipulation works: you guide someone toward your idea while making them believe it was their own idea. Intelligence agencies have mastered this and Trump is an easy target, he is absolutely a stupid narcissist the easiest target for a trained intelligence apparatus. We are seeing this play out in real time, the unexplained shift and the strange conflicts with people who once supported him. One thing Trump is not is an actor. He can’t act, not even for the sake of politics, so none of his pre-presidential stances were act and he did believe what he was saying before. The problem is that he is uneducated, impulsive and Stupid when you add narcissism to this you get the perfect recipe for disaster. So now we have Trump aligned with the very group he claimed to be fighting against. This is a vulnerable spot for the country, uninformed leader who doesn’t understand geography, history, politics or foreign policy. He can’t distinguish between countries, struggles with basic facts and has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of understanding about how the world works from international relations to economics. He has said countless absurd things and people kept forgiving him, hoping he was different, an outsider. We chose to tolerate his stupidity in exchange for change, but in the end, we only got the stupidity. The change never came. Now it’s clear, he’s now one of them, not one of us. Apparently Joe Kent is weak, but I guess Lindsey Graham is strong like a lion! :))))))))

The liberation of Goa in 1961 is often remembered as a swift 36-hour military strike, in reality, it was a diplomatic masterstroke executed in the waters of the Middle East. At its heart was a "brotherhood of defiance" between Indian PM Jawaharlal Nehru and Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser. By 1961, Portugal’s dictator, António de Oliveira Salazar, refused to budge on Goa, Daman, and Diu, dismissively labeling them "overseas provinces." As India prepared Operation 𝘝𝘪𝘫𝘢𝘺, a massive strategic shadow loomed: Portugal was a NATO member. Had Lisbon rushed warships and reinforcements from Europe, a local liberation could have spiraled into a global maritime conflict. The foundation for 1961 was laid during the 1956 Suez Crisis. When Western powers attacked Egypt to reclaim the canal, Nehru risked India’s ties with the UK to stand firmly with Nasser. Nehru viewed the 1956 invasion not merely as a local conflict, but as the "dying gasp of Western imperialism." He was blunt, stating,"It was Israel which attacked Egypt. The guilty party is the Israeli government and not Egypt." By championing Egypt’s sovereignty at the UN, Nehru cemented his role as the definitive voice of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). Nasser never forgot that when Egypt was under fire, India was its most vocal shield. When India finally moved on Goa in December 1961, it was time for Nasser’s payback. The shortest route for Portuguese reinforcements was through the Suez Canal. Nehru reached out to Nasser, and the gates were effectively slammed shut. Under the guise of international protocols regarding "arms in conflict zones," Egypt denied passage to Portuguese ships carrying troops. Other vessels faced a gauntlet of endless administrative red tape and "technicalities." Without the Suez, Portugal’s reinforcements were forced to circumnavigate Africa,a journey far too slow to intercept India’s advance. With the "back door" closed, the Indian Armed Forces moved with overwhelming speed. Lacking any hope of reinforcements, Governor General Vassalo e Silva signed the instrument of surrender on December 19, 1961. Thus, 451 years of Portuguese rule ended in less than two days. Throughout this process, Nehru refused to bow to US President John F. Kennedy, British PM Harold Macmillan, or UN Secretary-General U Thant, all of whom had "advised" him to postpone action. The "Suez Blockade" remains a masterclass in foreign policy. Nehru’s defense of Egypt in 1956 wasn't just based on idealism; it was a long term strategic alignment. By cultivating deep ties with the Arab world, Nehru ensured that when India moved to complete its independence, it did so with the silent, decisive support of the world’s most vital waterway.
It is easy to belittle a figure like Nehru today, but it is far harder to emulate him. True leadership requires more than just chest-thumping; it requires the foresight to move the world's gears in your favor.1:16AM 15 March 2026

Aviator Anil Chopra on X: "Lessons from the Hormuz Humiliation: Why India Must Abandon it’s Surface-Fleet Fantasy and Master Choke Points The most powerful navy in history has just confessed defeat in the 33-kilometre-wide Strait of Hormuz. In March 2026, as the US-Iran war entered its third week, reports" / X week, reports revealed that the US Navy has rejected near-daily requests from the global oil industry for escorts through the Strait of Hormuz. Three American supercarriers — Abraham Lincoln, Gerald R. Ford and George H.W. Bush — plus French and British warships sit idle in the Arabian Sea, Red Sea and Mediterranean. Though their collective military might outguns most nations, none of it can safely escort even a single oil tanker through the narrow corridor. Iranian kamikaze drones, swarms of fast-attack boats, naval mines and coastal anti-ship missiles have turned the tight waterway into a lethal gauntlet. A mere $500 contact mine can cripple a $4-billion destroyer. The best surface radars cannot detect submerged threats, and air power has proven equally ineffective at sweeping shipping lanes.
This is not merely an American failure. It is a warning written in fire for every navy that still dreams of blue-water dominance in the age of aerospace power. For India, staring at a peer competitor across the Indian Ocean, the message is brutally clear: surface ships and aircraft carriers are not assets; they can rapidly become liabilities. In any conflict with China — or even a superpower like the United States — our carriers and destroyers will become expensive coffins the moment hostilities begin. The Indian Ocean is no longer a safe playground for carrier strike groups. It is a contested littoral where geography, not tonnage, decides victory. || India’s naval planners have long chased the Mahanian dream: three carriers, a 175-ship fleet, blue-water power projection from the Gulf of Aden to the South China Sea. INS Vikrant is commissioned; INS Vikramaditya soldiers on; a third carrier is on the drawing board. Billions have been poured into surface combatants that look magnificent during naval reviews but will be dead meat in real war. Chinese anti-ship ballistic missiles (DF-21D, DF-26), hypersonic glide vehicles, satellite-linked drone swarms and quiet diesel-electric submarines have turned the Indian Ocean into an anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) killing zone. Even the Americans, with three carrier strike groups, cannot protect a tanker in Hormuz. What chance do our smaller, less-protected surface ships have when the People’s Liberation Army Navy brings the same arsenal into waters closer to its bases? The recent US-Iran war has laid bare the arithmetic. Surface ships are sitting ducks for air-power assets — land-based missiles, aircraft, drones and mines. A carrier’s air wing is powerful only if it survives the first salvo. In narrow seas or choke points, it becomes a floating bullseye. Mines laid by fast boats or submarines cannot be cleared by Aegis destroyers. Kamikaze UAVs overwhelm point-defence systems. One lucky hit on an Indian carrier group would produce exactly the strategic humiliation Washington is now desperately avoiding. India cannot afford that humiliation; our economy depends on energy flows through the very same ocean.|| Fortunately, geography has gifted India a far cheaper and more lethal alternative. Instead of scattering scarce rupees across vulnerable surface fleets, we must concentrate every paise on the natural choke points our island territories already dominate. Four corridors matter above all: The Malacca Strait approaches, controlled from the Andaman and Nicobar chain.
The Hormuz lesson is merciless but mercifully timely. India’s defence forces must learn it before Chinese missiles teach it to us the hard way. In the 21st-century Indian Ocean, geography is destiny — and surface fleets are dinosaurs. Choke points, submarines, missiles and island bastions are the future. Let us seize it before it is too late. 4:07AM 15 March 2026

India has resources. The government should not interfere but provide security so that resources do not cause misery and suffering by international goons. Anil Agarwal, Chair Person of the Vedanta group, says "अगर आप सपने देखोगे नहीं तो सपने पूरे कैसे होंगे"
At just 19, I came to Bombay from Bihar and built a company in this industry from scratch. Vedanta was able to acquire Hindustan Zinc and BALCO under a privatisation programme which was never completed. 26% and 49% stakes are still held by the government and not been transferred as per a predetermined agreement. Vedanta also acquired ONGC Oil and Gas asset via UK’s Cairn and Sesa Goa Iron ore from Japan’s Mitsui. In each one, the ambition and goal was to increase the production so much that India wouldn’t need to import but, in fact export. In Hindustan Zinc and BALCO, we succeeded. We increased zinc production 10 times, 20 times in aluminium. In the process, more than 1,000 companies have come up for processing this raw material. And Vedanta has contributed Rs 4.5 lakh crore to the exchequer in the last ten years. In oil and gas, our vision is to produce 1 million barrels per day. In iron ore, my vision is to produce 100 million tonnes, 33% of today’s production level. There are many more underperforming government assets that can perform the same way. Three or four decades ago, there was no know-how, no experts, no finance in this industry. It took a lot of determination. Vedanta raised 35 billion USD from abroad and invested in India. It brought experts and technology. Because of that, Hindustan Zinc can also produce silver and fertiliser, and we are working very hard to start producing critical minerals very soon, something we were told would never happen in India. Globally, only few very large companies engage in mining as it is very difficult without scale. Vedanta should be for India what Rio Tinto and BHP are for Australia or Vale is for Brazil. Other entrepreneurs and companies must create new Vedantas. Most of the advanced countries have become prosperous by developing natural resources, including oil and gas. In India, the system has to stop creating hurdles. It needs to take a long-term view, as this government is not revenue-minded but, production-minded. It must facilitate. Instead of notices and judicial activity, all businesses need to receive recognition and respect. Benefit of doubt should pass onto them. In India, we have economic heroes who can raise production equal to the biggest and best in the world. We should not allow tunnel vision or outdated mindset to keep us small and dependent. Some may remember the case of Rio Tinto which had invested in a diamond mine in Madhya Pradesh. It could have made India a global hub for diamond production, but they exited because of a complex, interfering and discouraging system. The most important thing is trust. Keep the system simple, keep regulation limited and you eliminate the root cause of wrongdoing. We should have self-certification instead of lengthy approvals and clearances. The Government issues the rulebook and entrepreneurs strictly comply, subject to audit. Constant enquiry and interference only discourage enterprise. Also, the mindset of discrimination between public sector and private sector should change. This year my family had the biggest tragedy. It was heartening to hear the words of the Prime Minister who said, “You must stay strong and continue to do work which is important for India.” That is the motivation of my life. I have the blessings of my grandfather and grandmother, who spent 40 years in Vrindavan in a small hut, in Manav Seva Sangh with their guruji, Swami Sharnanand Ji Maharaj. They always advised me, if you have wealth, you must use it for society. If you don’t have wealth, you must always help society with your hand. We all are willing to work hard, take risks and ensure that India becomes self-sufficient. The system should encourage us to deliver for our society and nation; this will eradicate unemployment and encourage women empowerment. This sector has given the maximum revenue to the exchequer in India and in the world for nation-building. It will help in making our country a developed nation, as envisioned by our Prime Minister. Let’s make India & Indians proud. " 1:04AM 11 March 2026

Dr. Brahma Chellaney on X: "India’s China Climbdown: In a move largely aimed at China, India today eased FDI rules for countries sharing land borders with it, reversing restrictions imposed in 2020 after New Delhi discovered stealth Chinese encroachments in eastern Ladakh. The step is the latest in a" / X    The step is the latest in a series of moves by the Modi government to normalize ties with China largely on Beijing’s terms, effectively dropping its earlier demand for a restoration of the pre-2020 territorial status quo. Although rival troops disengaged at some standoff points, the “buffer zones” created often lie on areas previously patrolled by India, effectively redefining the status quo to China’s advantage.
India has also begun easing visa issuance for Chinese nationals. After a five-year hiatus triggered by multiple troop clashes in Ladakh, the two countries have resumed direct passenger flights. Meanwhile, India’s finance ministry has begun scrapping the 2020 restrictions that barred Chinese firms from bidding for Indian government contracts. Greater Chinese investment in sensitive sectors — from power grids to EV infrastructure — could give Beijing potential “kill switches” or new economic leverage over Indian policy.
The irony is stark. After the 2020 encroachments, India sought to “decouple” from China. Instead, it now finds itself even more dependent on Chinese supply chains, allowing China’s bilateral trade surplus with India to keep surging — already exceeding India’s entire annual defense budget. 1:55 AM 11 March 2026

Gurdeep Singh Sappal on X: "Now that the Hindu article is behind a paywall, posting the text here: At last month’s Munich Security Conference, U.S. Secretary of State and close aide to President Donald Trump Marco Rubio laid bare his imperialist ambitions. He expressed a desire to dismantle the multipolar https://t.co/GHHVLDtGri" / X dismantle the multipolar world and restore the pre-Second World War global order. His “civilisation manifesto” advocated for white hegemony over the Global South, urging the Western alliance to unite in a concerted effort to compete for market share in these economies.
Mr. Rubio openly declared that decolonisation and the end of imperial colonies represented a retreat for the West, and demanded the reclaiming of economic space in regions such as India, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Within a fortnight, the U.S. and Israel launched an attack on Iran, killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and dismantling its top leadership command structure, even without a formal declaration of war authorised by the U.S. Congress. This attack cannot be merely seen as a localised conflict between long-standing adversaries. It represents a direct assault on the multipolar world order. Iran is a member of BRICS, a 10-nation bloc currently chaired by India. Conceived as a counterbalance to the post-1945 power architecture, BRICS posed a systemic challenge to it. De-dollarisation was central to BRICS’s agenda precisely because it aimed to build parallel financial institutions and payment gateways to circumvent the U.S.-West-controlled system. This included the New Development Bank (NDB), commonly known as the BRICS Bank, China’s CIPS (Cross Border Interbank Payment Systems), BRICS Pay, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), an indirectly linked security and geopolitical forum. All these initiatives sought a new, independent alternative to the U.S. and Western dominance. The post-World War order now faces challenges from both the U.S. and BRICS. India’s silence It was against this backdrop that Iran, a BRICS member, was targeted for regime change. But India’s silence, as the current Chair, suggests a fundamental breakdown in efforts to establish an alternative world order. The self-proclaimed Vishwa Guru has abandoned its allies while unquestioningly aligning with the U.S. camp despite the year-long public humiliation and unfair tariffs imposed by Mr. Trump. The Iran war has revealed the internal contradictions within BRICS and exposed the fragility of its efforts to challenge U.S. hegemony, despite Mr. Trump’s tantrums. Mr. Rubio’s Munich speech was remarkable for its candour and offered a logical explanation for Mr. Trump’s irrational decisions. While it may be a case of providing a rationale for illogical actions, it clearly presents a world view within the U.S. establishment that can exploit the chaos and instability caused by Mr. Trump. Mr. Rubio expressed pride in the West’s imperialist expansion over five centuries, attributing it to the creation of vast empires and, indirectly, to global development. He lamented the West’s retreat after 1945, which he saw as paving the way for “godless communist revolutions and anti-colonial uprisings”. He called for a unified effort to compete for market share in the economies of the Global South while declaring the UN and other international institutions as defunct and ineffective.
The Iran war in this context, yet to be authorised by the U.S. Congress, reminds analysts of East India Company’s expansion, where a private company seized control of trade, resources, and governance in India through commercial dominance and military force, not formal state conquest.
BRICS was partly formed to resist the control of financial systems and markets by the U.S. and the West. It stands paralysed now. Iran joined in 2024, signalling BRICS growing influence across the globe. It faced U.S.-Israel aggression in June 2025 also, when its nuclear installations were targeted and top military and scientific leadership was eliminated by the U.S. and Israel in a 12-day conflict.
BRICS was then chaired by Brazil. Under its leadership, BRICS issued a strong joint statement calling Israeli attacks as a violation of international law. A non-actor In stark contrast, India’s chairmanship has reduced the group to a non-actor. No joint statement has been issued, no emergency session has been convened, and no collective response has been articulated. Iran’s membership has proved strategically worthless, and India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi dismally failed to rise up to the occasion. Brazil, Russia, and China have individually condemned the U.S. offensive. But India’s political leadership did not even express condolences at the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei. The 10-nation bloc, which was designed to challenge U.S. hegemony, now stands in tatters, reduced to 10 separate foreign policies of 10 nations, under Mr. Modi’s leadership. This failure is further amplified by India’s dereliction of its role as net security provider in the Indian Ocean, with the U.S. torpedoing the unarmed Iranian warship IRIS Dena. In stark violation of bilateral agreements, the U.S. did not share intelligence with India, did not inform India of its presence in international waters in India’s area of influence and didn’t consult India before mounting an attack on its guest. India has responded with silence, eroding its claim to Global South leadership. The current crisis, precipitated by India’s abdication of BRICS leadership, exposes its deep fault lines. The bloc now has member states with incompatible strategic orientations. India has gravitated towards the Quad and has given up on Nehruvian non-alignment. India terms it “strategic autonomy”, but in practice it has come to mean brazen alignment with the U.S., regardless of Mr. Trump’s insults and forced capitulation in U.S.-India trade deal. Mr. Modi’s India consciously gave up the option of utilising the crisis to negotiate a collective way out of unfair U.S. pressure. Instead, it has surrendered its claims for Vishwaguru and hinged itself on to the United States. The Rubio doctrine considers BRICS a “revisionist power bloc” that must be countered. His objective of “a Western supply chain for critical minerals not vulnerable to extortion from other powers” is actually a challenge to BRICS member states’ hold on supply chains.
To maintain that control, BRICS needed to assure that its stands by its members. But the war has sent out a message that cost of resisting U.S. primacy can be fatal.
India had an opportunity. As BRICS chair, it could have played a transformative role in this crisis. It had historical relationships with both Iran and the U.S. Its diaspora work in the U.S., Israel, Iran and all countries of West Asia and is influential too. It is the world’s largest democracy, with a marked tradition of moral leadership, civilisation advantage and a history of ethical positions. Instead, Mr. Modi visited Israel 48 hours before the attacks and then gave up even the pretence of neutrality. Stress test BRICS now faces the most serious stress test and is at a critical juncture. It can develop a credible alternative forum for non-Western states to coordinate positions and amplify collective pressure, or else, scatter. But with Mr. Modi’s latest position, India is no more its leader. It’s an obstacle. A U.S.-aligned India, along with China and Russia as active challengers to Western primacy, is a discordant team. The Iran crisis has made this contradiction undeniable.
The question for India’s Opposition parties and its people is whether they stand by this dereliction by the Modi government or plan to challenge it. The Congress under Rahul Gandhi has already articulated its Opposition to abject surrender by the Modi government. But criticism alone is not sufficient. The moment demands a credible expression of what Indian foreign policy could be under different leadership. That vision is available. India’s historical non-aligned, ethical leadership equips it with credibility to be a genuine mediator. It is a country with enough relationships on all sides to speak credibly to Tehran, Jerusalem, Washington, and Beijing. Mr. Rubio’s Munich speech indicated that the world is dividing into competing civilisational blocs, and middle powers must choose their alignment. Mr. Modi, under duress, chose to join the U.S. bloc. Instead of resisting and competing U.S. design to capture “market share” in the Global South, Mr. Modi has chosen to assist that design. It is surprising, as India is not a Trump ally in this grand game, it is a target, a challenge to be addressed, a power to be vanquished. India must stand against this Trumpian dream. The East India Company is yet not a forgotten chapter. Its memories and independence struggle are still part of collective Indian consciousness. The alternative is not hostility to the West, but genuine independence from it: the capacity to say no when Indian interests and international law require it, to build institutions that serve Indian workers and Indian energy security, and to exercise the moral authority that India’s history and size uniquely afford. BRICS may not be a perfect grouping, but was painstakingly developed over past decades to collectively move forward. There is no wisdom in loitering the gains. It can still provide a framework of political solidarity. It can provide coordinated diplomatic responses to sovereignty violations, collective energy-sharing arrangements that reduce individual member vulnerability, devise newer supply chains and present institutional capacity to speak with one voice on matters of international law. India must must not let it down. (Gurdeep Singh Sappal is a Permanent Invitee to the Congress Working Committee and Executive Trustee, Samruddha Bharat Foundation. Finnish President Alexander Stubb was chief guest at the opening - in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Foreign Minister Jaishankar. Top leaders from across the world are in attendance. Stubb called for a new San Francisco moment. In 1945, the world came together to found the UN. Now it's time to form a new rules-based global order. Stubb asked us to drop illusions of a perfect world, but to create a world order that contains power. He told us to all to become more Indian. We must learn from history, and India is a good place to start. India has, since independence built its foreign policy on a broad platform - not aligning only on the goodwill of one power or bloc. The West's holiday with history is over, Stubb said. The time of Western dominance is now more, even if it takes time for the West to let it sink in. Europe must learn from India that passivity is not a strategy. He referred to Jaishankar's famous quote that Europe must move beyond the mindset that "Europe's problems are the world's problems, but the world's problems are not Europe's problems."
Stubb said we normally make three mistakes. We over-rationalize the past, we overstate the current problems, and we underestimate the future. It’s time for a bit more optimism. Together we can and must create a new cooperative world order .4:36PM 6 March 2026

Mahesh Jethmalani on X: "Prime Minister Modi’s Israel visit should be read like a map, not like a photo-op. It’s India stitching together a capability coalition in an era where power isn’t measured by statements, but by what you can see, stop, hit, and deter. Israel is a force-multiplier state: it https://t.co/uwhOKG5R7p" / X force-multiplier state: it compresses the cycle from threat detection to action. India is a scale state: it needs force multipliers to protect a massive, open, complex society. That convergence is structural, not political.
Now overlay the regional churn. Pakistan is living the blowback of its own design. For decades it treated jihad as an instrument and Afghanistan as “depth.” Today that depth is a furnace. When Pakistan declares “open war” against the Taliban, it isn’t projecting strength. It is admitting loss of control. And the more kinetic it goes on the Durand Line, the more it fuels the very insurgent ecosystem it claims to be eliminating. That is the trap for the next crisis. Here’s the bigger shift most people miss: Pakistan’s traditional advantage against India was asymmetric focus. Keep the western theatre “stable enough,” keep the eastern theatre perpetually unstable, and use proxies to bleed India at low cost. That model collapses the moment the west becomes an active war theatre. It forces Pakistan to redeploy troops, divert air defence, burn ISR bandwidth, and lose the luxury of calibrating escalation against India. Multi-front stress doesn’t just stretch an army; it stretches legitimacy, budgets, and the deep state’s aura of omnipotence. Sources clearly say that if Israel, directly or indirectly, starts enabling Afghanistan with surveillance, drones, training, intelligence, or technology - Pakistan’s western flank becomes harder, smarter, and more persistent. It doesn’t need to “defeat” Pakistan conventionally. It just needs to keep Pakistan consumed. That’s the dirty truth of modern conflict: you don’t always need to conquer territory to weaken a state. You only need to raise its cost of governing itself. Will Pakistan “break up”? Collapse is never a single event; it’s a process. The warning signs are always the same: internal insurgencies intensify, the economy becomes oxygen-dependent, civil-military gaps widen, provinces feel exploited, and the state starts responding with coercion because consent is eroding. When those trends run together, fragmentation becomes less a prediction and more a probability distribution. Now look at what India is doing in contrast. India is not “waiting” for Pakistan to implode. India is raising the structural cost of Pakistan’s behaviour. Better intelligence means fewer surprises. Better drones and counter-drone systems mean less utility for proxies. Better cyber and signals work means more disrupted networks. Better partnerships mean faster capability absorption. Deterrence is not a speech; it’s a system. This is also why the domestic political angle matters. In a high-stakes environment, India's Soros-funded non-serious opposition that constantly projects doubt about national capability doesn’t weaken the government; it weakens the country’s deterrence posture. It tells adversaries: “Keep pushing, India is divided.” It tells partners: “India’s commitments may be reversible.” Accountability is vital, but there is a line between scrutiny and sabotage - especially in security affairs. The larger takeaway: we’re moving into a world of capability blocs and pressure theatres. West Asia is re-ordering. Iran’s posture is changing. The Gulf’s risk premium is rising. Afghanistan is no longer a controllable backyard for Pakistan. Israel is recalibrating its alliances based on who can deliver outcomes. And India is positioning itself as the stable pole that can build, deter, and scale.
So this wasn’t just “Modi in Israel.” It’s India upgrading its strategic operating system while Pakistan’s operating system crashes under the weight of its own contradictions. 4:28PM 6 March 2026

He was not reading from a script. He likely spelt out US policy as it is, echoing a clear philosophy within the Trump administration. There should be no delusions here on out, and those who say otherwise should revise their talking points. This does not mean India will not get "preferential treatment"-- which is something India can manage. It's a step further. India will not be allowed. Make of that what you will. "Limitless potential" but manoeuvred to limit the gains. India’s ambitions in semiconductor manufacturing, critical minerals, oil exports and other strategic industries (but not restricted to them) will be seen with suspicion (because that’s where something can still be done), all the while paving the way for the Chinese to keep their place (where hope is lost). Consistent with the events of the past year. This is G2 in action, sure. It also means that the US now increasingly sees India as the next China and not so much a “like-minded democracy” that it could rework supply chains with. That idea has shrunk. The whole basis for the Quad, out of the window. It explains everything.
From the Trump admin perspective, this is realpolitik. For India, it is time to understand what is happening, recognise the limitations, and accept that this phase is not a hiccup but a directional shift. 6:55PM 6 March 2026

We stand in solidarity with them as they navigate this grave crisis.
India's foreign policy is anchored in a commitment to the peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue and respect for international law, as mandated in Article 51 of the Constitution of India. These principles-sovereign equality, non- intervention and the promotion of peace are foundational to India's civilisational values. Given this, the conflict in West Asia is deeply antithetical to our commitment to Vasudhaiva Kutumbaka ("the world is one family"), Mahatma Gandhi's doctrine of ahimsa (non-violence), Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's policy of non-alignment. The targeted use of force to destabilise the leadership and governing structures of a sovereign state whether in Iran or earlier in Venezuela-signals a disturbing revival of regime-change doctrines and coercive unilateralism. It also contravenes the United Nations Charter-especially Article 2(4), which expressly prohibits "the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state," and Article 2(7), which forbids intervention in matters essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state. A targeted killing of a sitting head of state strikes at the heart of these international rules. Sovereignty is not conditional, and political legitimacy cannot be manufactured through force.
The INC reiterates that it is the inalienable right of every nation's citizens to determine their own political future. No external power has the authority to engineer regime change or dictate the leadership of another state. Such actions amount to imperialism and are fundamentally incompatible with a genuinely rules- based international order.5:13AM 2 March 2026.

Enough with the spineless half-steps and political theater! Then we go to the second part, how does one do that? Well, I think like any country, India can build on its strengths. Look at what India has accomplished in two critical ways.
First, it has produced one of the world's largest populations of talented engineers. That is an extraordinary natural resource.
And second, it has built in India stack, a technology platform that is really unique in the world and has brought not just millions, but even tens and hundreds of millions of people, you know, into a more prosperous future. Now is the time to build on that. Harness the power of the engineering talent and think about how to build an AI stack. And that's what India is doing.

But think about how to do it in a way that harnesses the best of technology from around the world, combines that with Indian engineering and engineering products and then exports those products and services to the world.
I think that's the fundamental recipe. And when you take a company like Microsoft, it then becomes clear how we plug in, how we support it, how we bring our products, our huge investment commitment, 17 and a half billion dollars for this purpose, but really use it to support the entire nation." 6:17AM 21 Feb 2026.

As far as the French Rafale is concerned, parts of it are being manufactured in India, and that is a very important aspect of the deal because it is part of strengthening our defence, but also increasing our self-reliance in the defence sector... Defence is important for India not because we want to go to war, but because we don't want others to think that we are so weak that they can be tempted to go to war. It is a defensive defence literally, and I support the government on that."  4:44AM 20 Feb 2026

You talk about discussions of the Indian military’s decisions, including the 2020 India-China border clash. But Rahul Gandhi, you must know that Prime Minister Modi has never compromised India’s security. Whatever you may say, do understand that the government has objected because the parliamentary rules suggest prohibiting any discussion on unpublished works. This is not a published work. Penguin, as the company, has also said that this book has not been released. So what are you quoting from? And what is your whole agenda? Just to defame the Prime Minister, to defame the government, and to talk about articles from an expert in a book which is a figment of your imagination. I think it’s very clear that this standoff that we are seeing in Parliament is a matter of truth versus conspiracy theories of the opposition."    6:52AM 11 Feb 2026

Modi spoke in parliament and informed work done by BJP in last 11 years. Congress uses the word "मोदी तेरी कब्र खुदेगी"  and they preach "मोहब्बत की दूकान". He also spoke about Nehru and Indira Gandhi talking about 35 crore problems (population 32 crore during Nehru's time) or 52 crore problems (52 crore population during Indira's time). During Nehru's time and Indira's time army did not had bullet proof jacket and iceproof shoes. Congress did not perform. Everybody knows that Rahul Gandhi has been severely compromised as is evident by his constant peddling of China and Pakistan’s agenda. Now, unable to come to terms with the fact that the people of this country have been rejecting him continuously, he has now converted the Congress Party into a party of goondas. This has become evident over the last few days not only through his dangerous utterances but also his extremely disturbing actions in Parliament. It is a timeless tradition that the Hon'ble Prime Minister of the nation concludes the motion of thanks to the Hon’ble President’s address. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address this year would have covered a range of topics including the success in the recently concluded trade negotiations with the European Union, the progress in the US trade deal and the recently announced budget. It has now become clear that the Congress Party under Rahul Gandhi's instructions were to stop the Hon’ble PM from speaking in Parliament at any cost. He elaborated: "You are the biggest traitor of the country and killers of Sikhs... Your goons have burned Sikhs by putting tires on them and demolished our most sacred gurdwaras." Bittu emphasized he wouldn't bow to Gandhi's family, vowed to raise the issue with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and said Gandhi stands exposed for such conduct unbecoming of the Leader of Opposition. Bittu linked Gandhi's actions to historical grievances, including 1984 anti-Sikh riots under Congress rule, claiming Gandhi's family fueled Sikh unrest and prevented peace in Punjab. He noted public anger in Punjab over the slur and predicted political repercussions, while stressing parliamentary decorum. No formal complaint was mentioned beyond approaching the Speaker."
