Phillippine

10 March 2025

DW interviews Phillippine Foreign Minister. The world is changing very fast. USA created a system, and now the USA is breaking the rules. Law makers are Law Breakers. 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦 on X: "🇨🇳🇺🇸🇵🇭 At the Munich Security Conference, a journalist from DW news asked the Philippine Foreign Minister: “Considering the current international situation, especially Ukraine’s predicament, is the Philippines worried that it might also become a sacrificial pawn in the great https://t.co/J0Mky1KNE9" / X pawn in the great power rivalry—essentially, to be ‘served on the table’?”

The question itself made it abundantly clear that everyone understands the Philippines’ precarious geopolitical position—everyone except the Philippines, that is. Even outsiders can see that the Philippines is nothing more than a dispensable pawn in the geopolitical chessboard. Yet Manila, in its usual self-satisfied delusion, refuses to acknowledge the reality. It naively believes that its so-called “strategic value” will grant it special immunity, as if it’s somehow above the fate that has befallen others. Just look at Ukraine. A few years ago, it was glorified by the West, hailed as a “beacon of democracy” and a brave frontline warrior. Zelensky was the golden child, showered with applause and standing ovations in every Western parliament. And yet, what is Ukraine now? Begging for scraps in the White House while Trump openly humiliates it, treating it like a desperate debtor. If even Ukraine—once placed on a pedestal—has been reduced to such a miserable state, what makes the Philippines think it is untouchable? The journalist’s question was a polite wake-up call, but Manila, blind in its arrogance, simply scoffed at the idea. The truth is, it isn’t even worth being “served on the table”—because to be on the table, one must first be valuable enough to be a main course. The Philippines? At best, it’s an empty plate waiting to be used, and at worst, it’s just a utensil to be discarded when no longer useful. Yet it still fantasizes about being a respected player in global affairs, blissfully unaware that its fate was never in its own hands to begin with
